Should have put a big chunk of it into an investment fund that pays out a big chunk of money each year to sustain a big prize pool. That way you’d have time to establish and grow organically with big prize money. They would have come naturally. Now you went haywire spending stupid money on golfers some in the twilight of their career. You took a page from the tech industry of grow fast and win market share to earn later. But unlike in the tech world you don’t get paid by users and subscriptions alone. Also in golf you have to build a reputation and prestige. Something that takes time. Also handing a former professional golfer head a business was a mistake. Just because someone is good at golf doesn’t make them good at business. The world is full of former athletes that blew their money thinking they’re great at business just because they were great at sports. Sports and business are two different things. One rewards natural talent and tenacity to stick to one thing for years on end. Grinding in practice. Business needs fluidity, the mastery of multiple things, the acceptance of the lack of rigour and routine. Very few people possess both.
