NO they are shooting blanks.. M249s are not made to shoot blanks and cold weather makes the metal shrink so the blank adaptor does not work properly too many things can happen.. i have never had a jam with a 249 with live rounds

It's probably the blanks they are firing w/the BFA

Combination of three issues we did not have with Pig (M60). Tolerances too close, aggravated by other two issues - not enough cleaning and too little lubricant. Pigs were loose and messy, and thus fired all day, all night, in mud, sand, and snow. It just worked.

More CLP and less blank adapter would probably do the trick

Theyre finnicky as fuck. You need to know your gun. And take a leatherman to the top tray when nobodys looking to get it running right. And check your links. Links are a major problem

They are training with blanks. They will work just fine with real ammo. The blanks increase weapon malfunctions which is an amazing training tool for soldiers on proper clearing procedures under stressful situations.

Why do those guns seem to be jamming during firing?? I would not want that with me in a gun battle!

Horrible with blanks and blank adapters. Absokute pain in the ass. But, put live ammo in that sumbitch and it turns into a laser. Very nice to have in a real TIC .

They are terrible with blanks, on top of being an absolute garbage weapon to begin with. All hail the LAMG.

No the guns are great, the soldiers got the jab so they’re retarded now. It’s very sad and we shouldn’t make fun of their massive handicap.

This is common with blanks. They lack the gas of live ammo and cause issues. Even with the blank firing adapter (seen here on the barrel tip) it commonly lacks sufficient gas to properly cycle the weapon if you have ever ran one you would understand

My vote is blanks combined with BFAs likely not sealed properly. Properly maintained, those don't jam like that with live ammo.

Lubricating oil was too heavy?

Was a SAW gunner, never had a problem and would trust it with my life. 1) this is the army probably bad ammo or bad bfa bc they're not jamming, they're not cycling back.

Dirty nasty blanks it is!

Yeah they’re shooting blanks that’s what is happening. Blanks don’t cycle well with saws. There’s too much slop on the feed tray, there super dirty fouling in the chamber and feeding mechanisms and with specific lube it gunks up everything.

Bottle nose blanks Low pressure The cartridge crimp expands and the belt doesn't separate well forcing the operator of the weapon to manually cycle the weapon to not only strip the link but to extract the casing and advance the linked belt and the problem continues repeatedly.

Considering about 1/3 of them were M240s and all of them are firing blanks, no there is nothing wrong.

Belt fed blanks + full auto + poor lubricant choice in cold weather is most likely culprit
