Is this considered good or bad parenting?

This kinda parenting is simply excellent. Most of the time the boy will grow to thank his father for the rest of his life. This is how boys should be raised. Spare the rod and spoil the child.

Good parenting by the father, Bad parenting by the mother.

@Sakhi_Afrika I won't stand there and watch a man physically assault my child. There is a difference between disciplining and abusing a child. The father is abusive.

This is traumatic, I was raised like this and one time I became suicidal, luckily my brother was there for me... I will never do such to my kids 😔...

The dad needs to understand this is not 1904 and that taking your child to the most expensive school doesn't always guarantee good results. Also, I'm not so sure if beating him up will change those results, in fact why not evaluate his strength and areas of development to help him realise his full potential.
