Aspiration carries a high tendency for recurrence of the ganglion cyst.

Yes. A temporary measure.

No, not really for long-term resolution. This is needle aspiration of a dorsal wrist ganglion cyst. It can provide quick relief by draining the fluid, but recurrence rates are high typically 40-70% across studies because it doesn't remove the cyst stalk or wall. Surgical excision (open or arthroscopic) drops recurrence to ~5-15% and is more definitive if the cyst is painful or limiting function. Many resolve spontaneously too.

Aspiration of cyst fluid followed by kenacort injection is an effective technique.

No doc. It's only a temporary solution. • Aspiration provides instant decompression for dorsal wrist ganglion cysts, but carries a high recurrence rate exceeding 50% due to the intact joint stalk. • Conservative observation is a valid first-line approach, as a significant percentage of asymptomatic cysts spontaneously resolve without intervention. • Definitive management requires open or arthroscopic surgical excision of both the cyst and its stalk, yielding the lowest recurrence rate (5%–15%).

Put your hand on the table and have someone slam a hard book on it. Problem solved.

Not really It only gives temporary relief. Surgery is the best treatment to avoid reoccurrence of ganglion cyst.

This appears to be a cyst. I am not a doctor. If this is a subcutaneous cyst I have been told this procedure is a "band aid!" Post is not meant to cure or diagnose. Go see a qualified professional.

Ganglion cyst aspiration. It will most likely recur. They will need to surgically remove it to prevent recurrence.

No. Solo se extrae el contenido del quiste. Con el tiempo volverá a llenarse de líquido. El tratamiento definitivo es quirúrgico. Consiste en la extracción del quiste y su cápsula.

No, not effective long-term.This is needle aspiration of a dorsal wrist ganglion cyst. It gives quick relief but has high recurrence (40-70%) since the stalk/wall remains.

Aspiration provides temporary symptom relief by decompressing the cyst but is not a long-term solution, with studies showing recurrence rates of 40-70% since the cyst stalk and wall are not removed.

Nope. My wife had a cyst on her thyroid. They went ahead and drained it when taking the biopsy, but it came back almost immediately. The only solution was a partial thyroidectomy.

This is a ganglion and the traditional 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 method of removing it is to hit it with The Bible 😂
