Isn't this just unity light probes? The video is framing it like they invented this concept...

is just baked light probes, It's practically included in all engines; they didn't do anything extraordinary 🤦

shit talks lumen then just has a normie ass solution for their game that every engine has

it's neither innovation nor raytraced quality but gotta praise the developers for actually putting in time to optimize their game unlike so many AAA studios nowadays

"Indie innovation" - tech used in Half-Life 2 back in 2004.

Raytraced baked irradiance probes, when people think of raytracing in your game people assume it's real-time. I actually thought you just lowered the N of samples or resolution or implemented some form of DDGI "Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination". Dissapointed.

Reminds me of when Godot was working on their screen space stuff. Is that Switch 1 or 2?

its just adaptive probe lighting

Oldest and best lighting system for games !

This is just light probes which have been an industry standard for like 20 years or so.

that's just light probes

Dynamic Light Probes that applies ambient lighting with SH. Saying it is ray-tracing quality is just click-bait.

Is that Chips voice nowadays? What happened?

Looks like VRCLightVolumes

Chipflake

Baked GI is not equivalent to realtime raytracing.

is it native though?

their handle is @SalsaSharkStds
