I wouldn't drain all, but I would definitely drain SOME of the bacon grease. You don't need that much for that small amount of egg. Otherwise your eggs don't come out fluffy- they come out mushy.

As far as cursed recipes go, this one is not so bad. Better would be diced bacon and onions sauteed and then eggs scrambled in, with a bit of salt and pepper. My German mother used to make them, and we called them "Oma eggs" because her mother made them for her.
