Is this true? 😭

Yes, Americans are the dumbest people on the planet.

@SeanBra33633981

Once had this convo with an American teenager: He: "Where you from?" Me: "Finland" "Oh. Which state is that in?" "No, it's a country... in Europe." "Oh. So which state is that in?" True story.

This little skit is an oversimplification, but on the whole, yes, Americans are painfully unawares of anything beyond their borders. For instance, I’ve had to explain why Europeans do not celebrate Thanksgiving. They were unaware of the history/geography behind that holiday.

Some Americans really are this dumb, though.

I can attest @GolfFan509 @TomDEX88 Best one I’ve had is - “so do you guys speak English in England?”

Sadly, our education system is severely hamstrung, and certain red-hat political hacks are actively making it worse. Poorly educated adults are easy to manipulate with demagoguery and loud complaining.

Americans also think Amsterdam is the capital of Germany, or Germany is the capital of the Netherlands, or vice versa. they also think you can see everything in europa in 1 week.

An American genuinely once asked me: “So, your country is so small, if you stand on one side, can you see the other”. They weren’t joking. 😳

Unfortunately true. More Americans need to travel abroad and then will understand

I worked in Dublin with a couple of Americans back in 2000. They genuinely believed us Scots still lived in mud huts & wore kilts

😂😂😂 I just saw a post last week where people were genuinely confused about how a country in Europe was not part of the EU.

I have been asked a few times (in the US) if the UK celebrates July 4. I tell 'em it's when we finally got rid of that pesky colony! (And - I'm joking, before anyone kicks off.)

Cute skit but making fun of calling petrol 'gas' when it's a liquid is dumb. Gas is just short for gasoline in the same way petrol is derivative of petroleum

As an Aussie that has travelled the USA, I can relate. I was constantly asked was I British, when they had a good idea I wasn't, but couldn't come up with another nation that spoke English. I was told Tasmania was a separate country, not our island state. Then I wed an American🤪

Well, you can find a lot of them in a comment section. Especially in a tweet abt iran war. The level of stupidity between Israeli and American is at the same level.

I’m American and I apologize on behalf of dumb Americans.

TBH you probably should celebrate the 4th of July simply because we left.

Yes….. Not for 100% all Americans. But a lot of them? Yes… very very true That’s the result of American Propaganda and a lack of education

True face to face conversation I had with a middle aged American guy. Him: "My sister lives in the UK and says all the street signs are written in English and Muslim" Me: "Really?!! Where does she live?" Him: "Cardiff"

I actually know an Englishman who lives in the States and was asked how he celebrates July 4.🤦🏼♀️

shit that never happened award

That's very simplified, but I've had similar conversations 😂 Independence Day is celebrated in one town in the UK - Washington. It was the home of George Washington's ancestors from around 1180. The family took their name from the estate, it's not named after them.

No, it's rage bait. Yet some Brits think you can drive from NYC to Miami in a few hours. Make it make sense.

So this dude only knows dumbasses, basically.

This beef is between anglo-saxon fags.

To be fair to the Americans, the average reform voter thinks we left Europe as well.

who cares bunch of pussies

Yes! I once had an American ask me if Denmark was the capitol of Sweden. Another one asked me if we have polar bears on our streets

Probably. I have heard some interesting statements. Like, the official language of Germany is - of course - English. And does Germany have winter or summer while there is winter in the US?

They asked me if we have traffic lights in Spain and I had arrived there on a bus 😂😂

Yes, Americans are incredibly mega-stupid, and if Tom Cruise (Do you Reidd me! @Itsbenreidd) 'says' so, then it is certainly true.

But yet he’s in America and not his shit hole country.

In defence to the Americans, gas is just short for gasoline which is pretty much the same as petrol. Petrol is a French word, petrole, so gasoline is probably more English and precise.

This is dead on true and it goes way beyond this. When I was a teen, I worked at a major tourist spot in Canada. People from the USA would ask: 1. Where can I get the subway from Toronto to Montreal? 2. With skis in hand, in JULY: "where do we go to ski?" No Joke.
