You couldn't even understand what was in question in the debate. If you really read on philosophy what Jay was bringing to the table would be easily recognizable, but by what was displayed in this debate I suspect you don't read any philosophy and you're also incapable of understanding it.

Thomas Nagel dismantles relativism in one paragraph. In a 1995 talk on reason, the philosopher exposes a fatal flaw at the heart of the relativist position: "Claims to the effect that a type of judgment expresses a local point of view are inherently objective in intent. They suggest a picture of the true sources of those judgments which places them in an unconditional context." In other words, the moment you say "all truth is relative," you've already made an absolute claim. Nagel sharpens this into a precise logical trap: "The judgment of relativity or conditionality cannot be applied to the judgment of relativity itself." The relativist wants to stand outside all perspectives and declare that no perspective is universal. But that declaration is itself a universal perspective. He then drives it home: "To put it schematically, 'everything is subjective' must be nonsense, for it would itself have to be either subjective or objective. But it can't be objective, since in that case it would be false if true. And it can't be subjective, because then it would not rule out any objective claim including the claim that it is objectively false." The argument is elegant in its completeness. If "everything is subjective" is an objective truth, it defeats itself immediately because it would mean at least one thing is objective. But if it's merely a subjective opinion, it has no power to challenge objectivity at all. Either way, relativism collapses under its own weight. What's striking is how often this self-refuting structure goes unnoticed in everyday debates about truth, culture, and morality. The person who says "that's just your perspective" is quietly assuming their own perspective is the correct one. Nagel's point isn't that objectivity is easy to achieve, only that abandoning it entirely is incoherent.

"Nobody" Supports Dave Smith Another day, another Adam 🆘 Sosnick self-own. After the supposed "debate" with Dave Smith Adam goes on PBD Podcast and tells the audience how he thinks he did fine, he doesn't read the comments and it doesn't even matter because nobody supports Dave. The laughable lack of self-awareness is so perplexing I can't wrap my head around it. I watched this supposed 'debate' and it was anything but a debate. No positions, no meaningful argument, no points whatsoever. Your debate position can't be "you lost in a debate to this other man" and then spend the rest of the conversation talking over him and squealing your talking points without any meaningful defense or discussion. It's OK to disagree with Dave, but to pretend that nobody cares about his opinion or supports him when he objectively destroys you in every objective measurement is just beyond reality. This seems to be the go-to retort these days and it's as weak as it is nonsensical. Disagree, debate the points and the audience response is the temperature check. It's so simple.

You keep hearing that the president’s military actions are “unconstitutional” because of the War Powers Act of 1973. I break down the facts. No president — Democrat or Republican — has ever accepted the constitutionality of the War Powers Act. The Supreme Court has never ruled on it, and the Constitution clearly divides authority: Congress can declare war, but the President is the Commander-in-Chief. The framers intentionally rejected giving Congress the power to “make war,” limiting it instead to declaring war, while the president executes military operations and foreign policy. I recently had the pleasure (and honor) of speaking with Michael Shermer, founder of Skeptic Magazine, a publication that has shaped debates on science, skepticism, and truth for decades. It was a privilege to discuss questions that have occupied philosophers and scientists for centuries: How do we know what is true? Why do humans believe things that are not true? And what role should science, philosophy, and public reasoning play in an age increasingly shaped by narratives and technology? Our conversation went from science and religion, tribalism and conspiracy theories, to artificial intelligence, biotechnology, morality, free will, and even the possibility of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations. What I particularly appreciated was the opportunity to engage across intellectual traditions, bringing perspectives from Western philosophy as well as ideas rooted in Indian thought, including reflections inspired by the Bhagavad Gita and the ideal of Satyamev Jayate: truth alone triumphs. It was a thoughtful and wide-ranging discussion with someone whose work has shaped these debates for decades.

🚨: We were mobbed by students at Liverpool Uni for hosting peaceful debates about mass deportation! We set up a peaceful debate about mass deportation, no shouting, no aggression, just open discussion, and were met with crowds blocking cameras, chanting over us, and throwing around the usual labels like “racist” and “fascist” instead of engaging with a single argument. This is the reality of too many campuses in 2026, where students would rather shut down conversation than take part in it. Despite that, we still had genuine, thoughtful discussions with people willing to listen and speak openly before the mob turned up.
