It has been about 45 days since I was laid off at my 6 figure gamedev/engineering job. Here's what I've accomplished since going full time indie gamedev. - Happiness is at all time highs.. The creative excitement I've felt everyday has been amazing! For about 15 days I kind of dabbled around different areas to figure out what I wanted to work on and sink myself into. - I dabbled with VFX authoring in Three.js - I built the basis of an MMO engine in Rust Language and rendered it in Three.js I then decided I wanted to focus on something realistic and get a game out the door that could turn me from wanting to be a full time indie gamedev, to actually doing it, because realistically none of those projects are going to make me a living. I settled on building a Roblox game because I felt I like I could make something pretty unique and cool with a built in userbase. I chose roblox because it has a good platform of discovery for new games, which I think is pretty crucial for indie devs. - I then ported Plume my threejs library for Niagra like VFX to Roblox. - completed the full gameloop for my roblox game. What's featured in the video - Several menu types for kind of figuring out the direction and some placeholder menus - Cross server guilds/parties/queing - Itemization - Loot Tables - Inventory - Character Equipment - Item Upgrading/Leveling - Some interaction polishing - 1 Completed class with actions, unique boss drops, vfx/sfx - Boss State Machines / Encounter Systems - 1 Boss encounter - Everything is server authorative to prevent cheating. - Sound system Over the next 45 days my focus is on finish the last of the systems that will make up the game(solo quest/mission(story) content, monster codex, move raid board/social from the isolated menu you see in the video to the newer full screen menus, leaderboards. Once those systems are complete it will be time to then focus on just creating content so hopefully a few of you out there will come join and play! Kimi K3 dropped 3 days ago and i already used it to build my own PUBG the model that just took the number one coding spot on earth and it runs on a free tier no team no engine i just fed it free open models and assets that are already public and told it what i wanted it built the entire game itself the shooting the recoil the hit detection all of it came straight out of the model i barely wrote a line what youre watching here is the deathmatch mode and its already live battle royale is next im deep in it and the graphics get reworked right after i know it looks raw right now i wont pretend otherwise but the endgame is a build that runs perfect on phones and the moment its on mobile you drop ads in and it earns on its own the part that still gets me is my whole cost for this was a single subscription

Construction is the largest, least productive industry on Earth, and it’s starting to affect housing. We're here to fix that. Thesis: We can build quality homes — any type — faster and cheaper than most of the industry through industrialization. Here's how: Construction's biggest problem is logistics: getting the right materials, people, and information in the right place at the right time. So we invented a new type of manufacturing, Mobile Micro-Factories — small, modular, local factories that make and prepare every part of a home, then deliver it in stages, last-mile, to the site ready to assemble with non-specialized labor. We’re built to scale fast — we can quickly copy our factories into hundreds of markets worldwide. This is a really hard problem to solve; we're going to get there. I've been spending more time with Bezi to see how far I can push vibe coding a game on the Unity Editor. So far, I'm pretty happy with what I can achieve with Bezi. Here are some learnings: - Even though I use Bezi to do all agentic coding, I still have to perform a few small manual tasks in the Unity Editor - As a result, I feel like I am getting a hang of Unity's complex and clunky UI, which actually feels good! - This is one of those examples where Vibe Coding is a great way to learn game dev. - For big features, I can't state the importance of asking the agent to create a plan first before implementing the feature. It can work wonders. Most of the bigger features/ssytems starts with a clear plan. - The biggest strength about working with Unity Engine is the Unity Asset Store, there's so much good stuff in there, 3D assets, shaders, vfx etc that can really spice up your game, that other game enginers will need to build from scratch. - Because Unity Assets Stores sell UI assets packs, I was able to implement decent looking UI fairly quickly. For those of you that vibe code games, you know how much of a pain it is to implement UI. - I did meet a few hiccups along the way where Bezi seems to struggle a little with implementing some features, but usually with some retries it works out at the end, though it burns a ton of tokens. After spending more time with Bezi, I'm still feeling good about using it. I am able to get this PvZ style autobattler working in a few days!

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson describes changes being made to an earlier version of Henry Cavill's Superman suit after a camera test behind the scenes of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. "So what we're looking at here is the Superman suit from the second camera test. And the notes we got back from that we're going to make a few adjustments for our next camera test. "We decided that we didn't like this central shape so we've cut that out. We've made a few adjustments to these lines here to act like the idea that it had a more geometric, slightly harder, stronger line through here, a little bit like the cut lines of the human anatomy. "We're making our buckle a little bit bigger. And in general we're just adjusting the thickness of a lot of these pieces so it really feels like they're more integrated with the suit that they just sort of are like almost like an embossing. "And with just some general R&D work that we're doing with the way that the cape attaches to the suit, there's a lot going on here. "You're trying to make something beautiful and sculptural disappear into an impossibly thin membrane here and make it all look as beautiful as possible because we're going to be really close up for a lot of the movies so we're spending a lot of time and resources in getting that right. FABLE 5 JUST REBUILT FORTNITE FROM 1 PROMPT IN 20 MINUTES. EPIC NEEDED HUNDREDS OF ENGINEERS AND 6 YEARS. The test was simple: Fable 5 vs GLM 5.2, one prompt each, a 100-player battle royale running in the browser with no engine and no team. GLM went first and checked all 8 milestones. The game loaded with a battle bus, a generated map, Tilted Towers, even health and shield bars ripped straight from 2018. Then it fell apart. 2 FPS on landing, S walking forward and W walking backward, a gun that fires upward and a camera that refuses to look up.
