XPoSat (X-ray Polarimeter Satellite) is India's first dedicated mission to study the polarization of X-rays from celestial sources. Launched in November 2022, it carries two scientific instruments: POLIX (Polarimeter Instrument in X-rays) XSPECT (X-ray Spectroscopy and Timing) The spacecraft is based on the IMS-2 bus platform, which has been used for several other Indian satellites. The total cost of the mission is about Rs 200 crore (US$27 million). XPoSat was launched by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C58).

This is a huge milestone for ISRO and for India, as the XPoSat satellite will be used to study celestial objects like black holes, neutron stars, and pulsars.

What a way to kick off the new year. Congrats to ISRO on the successful launch. Happy new year Everyone
