We continue working to secure air defense for Ukraine – the missiles needed to protect lives and agreements for production in Ukraine. All of this will happen. It is not easy, but all of this will happen. Throughout the war, we have already spoken many times about weapons, capabilities, and equipment that we were initially told were supposedly impossible for us to obtain. Then we heard that Ukrainians supposedly would not be able to do it because it would take decades to become capable of it. F-16s, the production of millions of drones a year, specialized missile technologies – we did it. The same will be true of anti-ballistic capabilities. The same will be true of Patriots in Ukraine. But every delay that, unfortunately, is happening at the political level simply costs lives. It is important to act quickly, to focus all our efforts on protecting lives and limiting Russia’s resources for war. The aggressor must feel that the world is there – truly there – and is acting to end the war, rather than simply watching the war continue. 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz is a long stretch of time. A lot has changed. But what won’t change is our memory – how that war started, who was guilty, and who did the killing. And we will never forgive. We also remember that thanks to unity and determination, life won in the end. This is how it should always be. Thank you to everyone who keeps and shares the truth about that horrific time. Eternal memory to all the victims of the Holocaust! And thank you everyone who defends life today. It’s time for Europe to become a place without war. We dream about it. And we’re working for it.

As we remember Bucha, we ask: what will war and threats look like tomorrow – for Europe, for all of us? We must not let Europe’s enemies answer this question for us, or before us. This is very serious. If we have programs like SAFE, we must make them truly modern and effective. Europe should produce not just what it knows, but what really works in today’s war and what is proven by today’s war. And countries already working with us on joint production understand this. Ukraine has this experience. Now, as our expert teams work in the Middle East and the Gulf, we see that our experience in protecting lives and critical infrastructure is, in many ways, unique. We have already successfully brought back more than four thousand people—4306. And we will bring them all back. Now, when discussing ways to end the war with the American side and our other partners, we speak about the release of prisoners as one of the first steps. We believe that this absolutely must happen. I thank all our partners who support us in this effort. And everyone in Ukraine and around the world—all those who keep the issue of prisoners on the information agenda. I thank the teamwork of the Office of the President, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ombudsman, and all others involved, whose efforts bring Ukrainians home. We will do everything to further intensify diplomacy. We will do everything to make diplomacy effective. But every day now is about defending our independence, our state, and our people. We must remember – it is the support of our army, all our defense and security forces, and our state that determines everything. Last night, a father and his young son, just four years old, were tragically killed in the Kyiv region by a Russian strike. My deepest condolences to their family and loved ones. Three other people were injured, including a 12-year-old boy. We will never forget all those who laid down their lives to make us stand up. Also we will always remember that though a country be powerful, if it is fond of war, it will surely perish; though the land be at peace, those who forget war will inevitably be in danger.

Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland today commenting about the documentary. “There is a film that is due to be screened at Tiff today in Toronto about Russian soldiers at War. Ukrainian diplomats and the Ukrainian Canadian Community have expressed really grave concerns about that film and I do want to say I share those concerns. We have to be really clear that this is a war where there is no moral equivalency this is a war of Russian aggression this is a war where Russia is breaking international law and committing war crimes.
