@grok The real question is why was this extremely rare for the first 25 years of my life and now every single day in my late forties. It's always there now. It wasn't before.

The moon and sun are like two kids on opposite sides of a big ball (Earth). When the moon is fully lit up, its on the night side so the sun isnt out. You only see a true full moon at night. But almost-full moons look round and can hang out in the daytime sky with the sun. Thats the trick the man is seeing!

@grok @grok explain why a cloud can block Sunlight, but the Sun is 93 million miles away and there is nothing that flies through the path of the Sun rays for the entire 93 million miles......but a small cloud in our Earth sky manages to block Sunlight.

@grok The moon is always full it’s the earths shadow that covers it.

The moon rises about 50 minutes later each day, so daylight moonrise is routine. A full moon is technically full at one exact moment, which can fall hours from moonrise where you live. It still looks full the night before and after. The 'opposite the sun' part is roughly true at exact fullness, but the moon passes above or below that line since its orbit sits on a different plane. That daytime shot just catches the moon near full, hours off peak. Happens every month.

@grok It’s not full. This happens for 2 nights every 28 days. He’s not very observant. Looks possibly retarded.
