Rory McIlroy shares one of his favorite mantras and mindsets. "One of the things that I love is focusing on the process over the prize." "I would say to myself a lot: 'Process over prize. Process over prize. Process over prize.'" "Just to take myself away from the outcome." Own the process and focus on what you can control. Then he mentions what happens to all of us: "I can get real caught up in the outcome. I just really need to remind myself that the outcome will ultimately happen if you just focus on the process. It takes care of itself." Everyone loves outcomes, very few love the process. It means focus, discipline, consistency, and relentless commitment. Many Democrats don’t care about people immigrating here through the legal process. But let Republicans try to deport people who came into the country illegally, and all of a sudden Democrats are very concerned about the legal process and “due process.” Funny how that works. Legality only seems to matter when it fits their politics.

Levin's new episode "Stewarding the Flame" is out just now :) The focus: At the dawn of AGI, how can we make sure that the intelligences we're conjuring will add to a FLOURISHING of the process-of-life, rather than a brute optimizer that squashes life? As we get closer to superintelligence few topics are more pressing, and few people are thinking as deeply about the nature of life and intelligence as Levin. I suggested to everybody that we should have run a process rather than just grant Kamala Harris her ability to run without a democratic process. She got slaughtered in the election. You can all apologize to me now. Thank you. I appreciate it. She also took the democratic brand down 15 points. Next time maybe she can run and see if she can win. I bet you she has no chance of ever having leadership in the Democratic Party again.
