Maybe I'm due for the future to do the same thing." 🇪🇹 Yomif Kejelcha, today's London Marathon runner-up in 1:59:41 (second man in history to run a legal sub-2), applauded Sabastian Sawe for taking the extra step for more anti-doping testing ahead of the world record run. Kejelcha says he would also participate in more testing before his next marathon. Kejelcha is also sponsored by adidas, which provided the funds to the Athletics Integrity Unit to handle Sawe's additional testing.

He just took the 2022 1500m world champion to the finish line at the NYC Grand Prix. I know I get to spend time with my dad in his older ages. • Has a supportive girlfriend | “When we go out, she pays for every single meal. I told her when I get sponsored, I’ll pay for the meals this time.” This man is betting on himself. Here are coach Claudio Berrardelli's comments on drug testing after Sabastian Sawe's 1:59:30 world record. Q: Do you know how many times exactly he was tested or not? Berardelli: I don't know exactly...I know yesterday I was with the AIU and they said he has been tested more. Of course, what happened was the budget we had before Berlin, the AIU decided to spread it throughout the year because they said it doesn't make sense to have him tested every three days, it's too much. Still, Sebastian is in a special anti-doping (protocol).

On Sunday, I was surprised by Vincent Mauri’s 2:05:53 marathon debut at the Glass City Marathon in Toledo. The fastest ever by an American. Then, we dove into his Strava and I spoke to him about his self-coached training today. I’ve never been more fascinated by someone’s approach. Some things that stood out… -5.6 miles at 5:48/mi the day before his marathon -Ripped a few 200s closing in 26 five days before - 19 miles at 5:31 seven days out…on the treadmill -Wasn’t even planning on Toledo until Carmel was canceled – Does almost all his training in non-carbon-plated shoes Gosh, the marathon is such a cool event.
