Without national security to guarantee sovereignty , and the nation, welfare security is worthless. This reminds me of the time when the UK was building an aircraft carrier CVA-01, the plans were ready to go in January, 1966, it was canceled in February, 1966. The government was torn between national security or welfare security. The government picked welfare. It wasn’t until the 1973 that the navy reserved a new aircraft carrier. Now with Russia making threats, and Argentina looking at the islands again. Makes one wonder should national security come first this time?

@OliviaUtley FFS here she blows n rants again @OliviaUtley calm down ! Take a breath ! Sit on ur frantic hands n stop rocking in ur chair ! Ur exhausting n causing motion sickness again!

@OliviaUtley I think Burnham has a reasonable point about protecting social security, but he also needs to show clearly how he plans to deliver the defence spending the country needs. Otherwise, Badenoch has an easy line of attack.

@OliviaUtley This could become a much bigger political issue if the debate keeps growing

@OliviaUtley Looks like GB News are starting a love in with the Conservatives.

@OliviaUtley @andyburnham just cut welfare you spineless prick.

@OliviaUtley He said, “This side of the House will not be forced to choose between the two". Welfare spending increased under Badenoch's Tories during their 14 years of misrule. They also gutted our defences. Defence spending is now being increased.

@OliviaUtley To start filling the budget is to stop all funding for the illegal immigrants, but then back on another boat and wave them off with zero return, so we can use that money for the defence budget and help our own veterans and homeless

@OliviaUtley I think the bigger issue is what Labour actually plans to do on both defence and welfare. The wording matters politically, but voters will ultimately want to see a clear plan.

@OliviaUtley Kemi Badenoch loves welfare and the tories love sleeping with journalists Journalists editors and tories love Sleeping with each other. Zero impartiality

@OliviaUtley I can see why some think Burnham may be giving Badenoch an opening, but voters will ultimately want to know whether either side has a realistic plan that balances security with support for people.

@OliviaUtley They should tax scumbags like yourselves more, sitting around talking shite, picking on the most vulnerable

@OliviaUtley Burnham AKA flip flop does not care about our country

@OliviaUtley I can see why some people think Burnham is giving Badenoch an opening, but I think the bigger question is whether either side can come up with a convincing way to fund stronger defence without putting too much pressure on people.

@OliviaUtley How does a welfare state survive when the actual state dies?

@OliviaUtley Let's face it we are well and truly Fcked! and that's putting it mildly.
