This is the problem with a governor -- Tim Walz -- that allows a culture of fraud and abuse to persist across his agencies. Real people who have real needs get hurt, while fraudsters profit and taxpayers are left holding the bag. As House Speaker I fought hard to establish a fraud oversight committee to expose the fraud and work towards solutions to prevent it. But we must go beyond shining a light on the issue -- we need action. Democrats, led by Tim Walz, blocked our bill to create an Office of Inspector General last session. We need a champion for the people, not the fraudsters. The fraud has to stop. It will stop when I’m governor.
