It is not the case, and has never been the case—to take the Haiti example—to take three million people from a failed island, put them into America, and overnight have them become fully successful, assimilated American citizens. We are protesting the way in which the deportation was done—sending them in a military aircraft and that too in handcuffs is an insult to India; it's an insult to the dignity of Indians. Not long ago, Columbia refused to accept people in these circumstances and officially protested when they were sent in handcuffs. They had demanded that the people be sent in civilian aircrafts and only then they'll accept them. And I think we have to do the same. They have every legal right to deport people who are illegally in their country, and if they are proven to be Indians, then we have an obligation to receive them. But not in this manner. The govt should take action so that such a thing is not repeated and demand an explanation for this atrocious behaviour. : Shashi Tharoor ji

Ukrainians are standing strong, and we have to support them. The main issue is air defense. They are lacking interceptors. We know that some countries have interceptors that will expire soon, so it would be very good if those were given to Ukraine so that they could use them to protect their people.
