I met with representatives of the American think tank Hudson Institute and informed them about the consequences of Russian strikes in recent days. In light of these attacks, it is particularly important to bolster Ukraine’s air defense, and we are grateful to the United States of America and to all caring Americans for their support of Ukraine, which we have felt throughout all the years of this full-scale Russian aggression. During the meeting, we discussed cooperation with the U.S. Congress, diplomatic work to achieve a dignified peace, and the importance of active U.S. participation in the negotiation process. We are counting on an end to the pause in the negotiations and the reinvigoration of diplomacy. This is important for saving the lives of our people and restoring security in Europe.

I presented the Victory Plan to the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni. We had a very productive discussion today, covering all aspects of the Plan. The key is to strengthen Ukraine’s positions and relations with our closest partners, ensuring we create the necessary conditions and a fair atmosphere for honest diplomacy. I am grateful for the preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in Italy. It is important for us that Italian businesses are significantly represented in the reconstruction projects in Ukraine. I greatly appreciate our exchange of views today on the prospects for global developments and the immediate political outlook in partner countries. I would also like to extend my gratitude for the security assistance Italy has provided to Ukraine, particularly the air defense systems that are saving lives in our cities and villages. Today, Giorgia and I also discussed the preparation of a new security package. We deeply value Italy’s efforts at the G7 and EU levels to ensure international law remains effective and that our Europe stays strong. Without a doubt, Europe needs its own anti-ballistic capabilities so that the European way of life can be fully protected. We discussed what has already been accomplished together with our partners in this regard. The Prime Minister and I also signed a full-fledged drone cooperation agreement – a Drone Deal. It will create even more opportunities for joint production and technological development, and, most importantly, bring greater consistency to the exchange of expertise and the export of weapons. Together with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergiy Kyslytsya 🇺🇦, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Olga Stefanishyna, we discussed preparations for the meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States, scheduled for this Friday. We exchanged views on what a long-term security architecture should look like — not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe. The leadership of the United States and personally President Donald Trump made peace in the Middle East possible. This is the kind of vision the world — and Ukraine in particular — needs today. I met with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs. Security cooperation was our main focus. We count on signing an agreement with Latvia in the Drone Deal format to build a multi-layered air defense system against different types of threats. I proposed this cooperation to the President. We will send our experts to Latvia to exchange experience and provide direct assistance in protecting the airspace. It is important to work together to strengthen Europe’s defense. We also discussed the overall security situation in the region. The initial cause of all challenges and threats is Russia and its aggression. I am grateful that we share a common position on this. Special attention was given to diplomatic work and Ukraine’s European integration. It is important to open all negotiation clusters as soon as possible, and there are now favorable conditions for this. Latvia consistently supports us in this regard, and I am grateful for it.

The U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg Keith Kellogg, is in Kyiv today. I am grateful for a constructive meeting. We discussed various vectors of cooperation – how to achieve real peace and guarantee Ukraine’s security. These include projects within the PURL initiative for financing production and procurement of Patriot systems, strong bilateral agreements on co-production of drones and weapons that we have proposed to America. We count on a positive response from the United States. We had a substantive discussion on stepping up pressure on the Russians and what we can do together with partners in tariff and sanctions policy to enable a meeting at the leaders’ level at the earliest and bring this war to an end. A trilateral leaders’ format is undoubtedly the most effective. We also discussed the return of abducted Ukrainian children, international cooperation on this track, and the conditions in which our children are being held. I expressed condolences to the American people over the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk and thanked President Trump for his condolences and response to the brutal murder of Ukrainian citizen Iryna Zarutska in North Carolina. It is important that justice prevail every time violence seeks to take hold. We are also preparing for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. We discussed planned events, coordination between Ukraine and the U.S., and work within the Coalition of the Willing. We are working on potential meetings and various formats.

Undoubtedly, it was a successful Summit, a demonstration of true unity between Europe and America. Ukraine, as always, is uniting the world. We value the United States’ readiness to be part of the security architecture for Ukraine, and our teams are actively working on shaping it. We expect that the key foundations of security will be defined shortly. We discussed how we can influence the Russians, compel them to engage in real negotiations, and end the war. Sanctions, tariffs—everything must remain on the agenda. We are ready to engage in a format of leaders. This is the format needed to resolve the key issues. Now, the same readiness is needed from Moscow. Military cooperation is important for both Ukraine and the United States, and there are two strong opportunities—an agreement on arms procurement and an agreement on drones that could significantly strengthen our arsenals. We are maintaining momentum in our work within PURL. This is an important instrument for procuring American equipment funded by partners, and we are now actively working on engaging additional countries. And, of course, the humanitarian track. A team of Ukrainian experts is working in Qatar, sharing our experience and expertise. I met with our team here today and received a briefing on their work. Our experts have already conducted an overall assessment of the security situation, Qatar’s capabilities to counter aerial threats, and have developed concrete solutions to strengthen the protection of its airspace. And today, during my meeting with the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, it was important for me to hear such a high assessment of our team’s work and appreciation for their consultations. Ballistic missile and drone attacks are currently the biggest challenge here in the region. And while only air defense systems can effectively counter ballistic threats, in Ukraine, we have developed other, significantly more cost-effective solutions to combat drones. These solutions have already proven their effectiveness against various types of drones, which is why Qatar is so interested in our experience. Ukraine has always said that we are ready to share our expertise and help those who can also help us strengthen our own protection in Ukraine. Qatar is ready for long-term cooperation across various areas. It is important to restore stability in the region so that no one suffers from Iran's terrorist strikes. And we support an approach where, by helping one another, we increase security worldwide.

The sixth meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Together with our partners, we supported the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war, stop the killings, and achieve a just and lasting peace. I am grateful to the partners for our shared position: the path to peace cannot be determined without Ukraine, and negotiations can only yield results if they take place under a ceasefire. I am also grateful for the active support of our state as long as Russia has not agreed to a ceasefire. I called on our partners to finance Ukrainian drone production to enhance our country’s defense capabilities and to join the new NATO PURL instrument for the procurement of U.S. weapons. During the meeting, we coordinated the next steps and agreed to continue working in close contact between Ukraine, all of Europe, and the United States. I am grateful to the President of the European Commission and the President of the European Council – Ursula Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa António Costa – that you have come to Ukraine on this day – 4 years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Europe has stood with us throughout these difficult years, and our people trust Europe. They know we are not alone. In many ways all of this is thanks to your personal efforts, your work and friendship – thank you. I thank all our European friends and partners – everyone in the European Union – who stands on the right side of history and helps Ukraine. And it’s vital that we have started working on the details of a key geopolitical security guarantee for Ukraine and for all of Europe – a clear date for Ukraine’s accession to the EU. With our season being over my contract with Team Vitality 🐝 has ended It has been a rocky journey and through each challenge it has been a test of who we are and what we’re made of. I can personally say that the work ethic of the team cannot be put to question and everyone was willing to go over and above to get us to where we wanted to be. It can feel like all the work had no reward, but I truly believe that the work is an investment for a lifetime and not just a season. To the fans, we know it is disappointing and we really dreamed of that fairy tale story in Paris. For now the players, coaches and staff appreciate the support that has been given and even I could feel the warmth of the well wishes and welcomes I received when I joined the org. I will appreciate the memories of everyone here that will last me a lifetime. I’m very grateful to have been here and to have been part of the vitality story💛 🖤🐝

Today, Ukraine welcomed the first official visit of the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Yvette Cooper. I am grateful that her first trip was here to Ukraine – a truly powerful signal of support. We had detailed discussions on urgent matters: next steps within the Coalition of the Willing and the development of security guarantees with a particular emphasis on a strong Ukrainian army; further defense support; the implementation of the agreement to produce in the UK interceptor drones designed in Ukraine; strengthening air defense; and long-range capabilities. I thank the United Kingdom for today’s sanctions package against Russia. It is essential to keep building this pressure so that Russia’s war machine is ultimately brought to a halt. I am also grateful for the financial support for Ukraine – namely, the allocation of £142 million to prepare for the winter.

During a meeting with the leaders of two Bundestag coalition factions, Jens Spahn and Matthias Miersch, we discussed financial and defense support for Ukraine, as well as the next steps in diplomacy. We are grateful to Germany for its leadership in supporting our people, especially for the Patriot systems and missiles, and IRIS-T systems – all of which are saving the lives of our people. We also spoke about further bolstering the protection of our skies. Separately, we discussed the importance of achieving a ceasefire and developing security guarantees. In recent weeks, Russia has shown no intention of being ready for a meeting at the level of leaders and has continued striking our people. That is why we count on Germany’s support in increasing pressure on Russia. Only strong actions can change Russian behavior.
