It has been another devastating year, filled with loss, destruction and death. Through it, B’Tselem continued to gather information and record testimonies in order to document what is happening on the ground under Israeli rule and to give the public the clearest and most reliable picture possible. As a... local human rights organization, we have a key role to play in the global effort to stop Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. The Russian army has turned our cities and villages in the Donetsk region and beyond into ruins. And this is exactly what we are fighting to stop. We are fighting against death – the death that Russia is bringing to our land. We must not allow Russia to blur reality or mislead the world. Moscow must be forced into diplomacy. We need a ceasefire. We need real peace. We need real security. An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there's great strength in that. And it is very fragile. And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be. Meiselas: We need to really reevaluate and reflect on what the hell is happening with Israel. We have to all acknowledge the genocide taking place in Palestine right now. We have to all work to make sure that it is American policy to stop this genocide. And it should be disqualifying for anybody who doesn't call it a genocide and who doesn't work to end the genocide and who doesn't work for a Palestinian state.

In Europe, we must produce all levels of air defense – against drones and all types of missiles, including ballistic. Our seas must be secure, and our forces in other seas must be protected from all threats. Europe not only has this potential – it also has a mission: to protect not only itself, but what it believes in. We believe in people, in their rights and freedom. We believe in culture. And we want nations to live in real peace, strong peace, and communities in respect. Together, Europe is a global force – one the world cannot do without, and that no one can stand against.
