According to the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe and the Highway Code, drivers approaching a level crossing must come to a complete stop and check for oncoming trains before proceeding. Attempting to beat a train at a crossing remains one of the leading causes of fatal collisions. It is deeply concerning and unfortunate that most bodaboda riders operating within Nairobi CBD have developed the habit of riding on the wrong side of the road, putting their own lives, their passengers, and other road users at serious risk. This is the disturbing situation I personally witnessed this evening while on the ground verifying complaints about alleged harassment and illegal arrests by the county inspectorate team. From my spot checks, the reality was clear many riders are deliberately violating traffic rules. Within a short time, we recorded 348 bodabodas using the wrong side of the road. Out of these, 253 were stopped, turned away, and advised to immediately return to the correct lane, while several others fled upon noticing enforcement officers. Moving forward, enforcement will now be strict and uncompromising. Any bodaboda found breaking traffic rules especially riding on the wrong side will face immediate arrest of BOTH the rider and the passenger, and the motorbike will be impounded. Arresting the passenger is intentional because they enable this lawlessness by accepting unsafe rides. This measure will send a strong message and encourage passengers to demand compliance with traffic rules. Through shared responsibility, we can promote self-regulation, reduce accidents, restore order on our roads, and improve safety within the city. Road safety is not optional. We must all take responsibility.

Revised 1997 regulations made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act (1984) include a provision that: • Pedestrians must not remain on a crossing longer than necessary to cross. • They must not unnecessarily delay traffic by lingering, loitering, or obstructing the crossing area. This is designed to ensure crossings function as intended: a safe, efficient point for pedestrians to cross, not a place to block traffic... One law for us eh? #ReformUK

The Teok-Sivasagar Highway is an important road in the Jorhat region, critical for boosting connectivity. Work for several portions of the road has been ‘ongoing’ for the past several years. The condition of the road is deplorable. From frequent accidents to long traffic jams, this portion is affected with several issues. Several contractors have been brought in and left the job mid-way. Multiple tenders of work have been issued, to no effect. People are facing severe inconvenience. I urge Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari to intervene and take immediate action. Shri Gadkari has visited Jorhat in the recent past. I’m optimistic that he will take the necessary steps to ensure work is completed at the earliest and people don’t have to suffer indiscriminately.

People’s lives have been forever changed by these tragedies & it has to stop. This is an alarming trend that cannot continue. 🗣 2024 marked the highest number of fatal collisions since 2013, a continuation of a year-over-year increase in collisions since 2021. It was also the highest year for pedestrian fatalities since 2005. Having the right of way does not always mean it is safe to proceed. Whether in a marked crosswalk or driving through a green light, it is crucial for all road users to first establish that it is in fact safe to proceed. As the city’s population continues to grow, that means there are more vehicles & more people using Calgary roads. We all need to look out for one another when driving, walking, cycling or using other modes of transportation. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Road Rage Reigns: Bengaluru Auto Drivers Attack Car Driver on Sarjapur Road What is happening on the roads these days? The city seems to be witnessing an alarming rise in incidents of aggression and road rage. In yet another disturbing event, a man driving his car on Sarjapur Road was relentlessly chased by an auto-rickshaw driver. Shockingly, another auto driver soon joined in, and together they attacked the car, hurling stones from the road. The vehicle’s glass was smashed in the attack. The terrified driver barely managed to escape, but he was eventually assaulted on his face near RGA Tech Park. Incidents like these are not only frightening but also reflect a serious problem in traffic behavior and road safety. Road rage, whether by auto-rickshaw drivers or other commuters, is utterly unacceptable. It shows a complete disregard for human life, safety, and the basic rules of civil conduct. This is Kimbo-Matangi junction Road, which connects to Thika Road. It's approximately 5.5km. The road is in a deplorable condition which has led to severe damaged and breakage of vehicles, motorcycle, tuktuks and bicycles. The road is also impassable by pedestrian. The poor state of the road has increased accidents, and I can attest because I am one of the driver who had an accident on this month of May. The area MP is George Kuimburi did some very shoddy job in April. Governor Governor Kimani Wamatangi, EGH 🇰🇪 is very ignorant about the suffering of people in Juja constituency, he is busy doing PR work on social media. Another example of Mount Kenya idiots being misled by Kameme/Inooro and the corrupt clergy to elect clowns and idiots. Who will save these useless bastards from their own stupidity? How do you allow semi-literate religious leaders and comedians to tell you who to vote for? These guys can’t be helped.
