It is extremely difficult to bring our people home from Russian captivity, and the hardest part is bringing back our children—the young Ukrainians stolen from their families, taken from our temporarily occupied territories to Russia, and hidden away. No one can say for certain how many there are, but... we know there are tens of thousands. This week, a conference was held in Canada focused on a key point of the Peace Formula: returning all Ukrainian captives, all our deported and stolen people. More than 70 countries and international organizations took part. Our Bring Kids Back UA initiative is working to make this happen, with support from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Vatican, and many other countries. We want true peace for Ukraine. Justice means bringing everyone home—all those the war tried to rob of their home.show more

Today, another 205 of our warriors have returned home from Russian captivity. Our ability to bring our people back is the result of the bravery of our soldiers who skillfully fight and capture the occupiers. We must bring all our people home. I also held a Staff meeting, where one of the key topics was the protection of Ukraine’s skies — particularly, the downing of Shahed drones, including with the use of other drones. This is one of the most advanced technologies in modern warfare. The coming weeks are expected to be very active for Ukraine in diplomacy. Another solid piece of evidence of Russia’s war crimes against Ukraine and Ukrainians is the Yale HRL study. Yale researchers have identified hundreds of Ukrainian children from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions who have been abducted by Russia since February 2022, as well as their locations and the deportation routes used. 148 children are already listed in Russian child placement databases, 42 of whom have already been adopted, placed under guardianship, or assigned Russian custodians. Another 166 children have been placed with Russian families. The report demonstrates to the entire world the extent of Russia’s actions to erase Ukrainian identity and how systematic its policy is in this regard. Ukraine is tirelessly working to ensure our children return home and that all those responsible for these heinous crimes are punished. This is a challenging task, but we are doing everything in our power. We are deeply grateful to everyone who is helping us— every countries, organization, leader, both political and public. Another solid piece of evidence of Russia’s war crimes against Ukraine and Ukrainians is the Yale HRL study. Yale researchers have identified hundreds of Ukrainian children from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions who have been abducted by Russia since February 2022, as well as their locations and the deportation routes used. 148 children are already listed in Russian child placement databases, 42 of whom have already been adopted, placed under guardianship, or assigned Russian custodians. Another 166 children have been placed with Russian families. The report demonstrates to the entire world the extent of Russia’s actions to erase Ukrainian identity and how systematic its policy is in this regard. Ukraine is tirelessly working to ensure our children return home and that all those responsible for these heinous crimes are punished. This is a challenging task, but we are doing everything in our power. We are deeply grateful to everyone who is helping us— every countries, organization, leader, both political and public. In just over a year of operation of our maritime export corridor, 70 million tons of cargo have already been transported. More than 2,500 ships have departed from Ukrainian ports. Ports in Asia, Africa, Europe, and America are receiving our Ukrainian cargo. Countries from Egypt to Indonesia, from Tunisia and Libya to India, from Algeria to China have received our Ukrainian grain. Thanks to the humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” hundreds of thousands of families and millions of people in Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, and Sudan have received essential food supplies. I thank everyone working to enhance our export potential, and I am grateful to all those around the world who are helping. This undoubtedly strengthens peace.

⚡️🇺🇦 Eleven Ukrainian children have been successfully returned to Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territories and Russia as part of President Zelenskyy's Bring Kids Back UA initiative. The effort was carried out by the Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman with the mediation of the State of Qatar. The youngest child returned today is 10 years old, and the oldest is 17. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a total of 1,453 children have already been brought home from the temporarily occupied territories and Russia. A few stories of families: ▪️ The mother of a 13-year-old girl was released from Russian captivity in April 2023. Her daughter and grandmother remained in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region. The girl kept asking how she could find her mother and live with her again. Today, after long and meticulous work, for the first time since the full-scale invasion began, the mother and daughter were reunited. ▪️ Five children from one family were also returned. The children's parents had been deprived of parental rights, and during intense fighting in their region, their guardian took them to Russia. For some time, there was no information about the children's whereabouts. Eventually, they managed to contact their sister in Ukraine and expressed their wish to return home. Today, the large family is back together. Thanks to coordinated efforts, these children are home today. Ukraine is deeply grateful to the State of Qatar for facilitating the reunification of these families. For over three years now, almost throughout this entire war, our Coordination Headquarters has been working—all the services that bring prisoners home. We have already successfully brought back more than four thousand people—4306. And we will bring them all back. Now, when discussing ways to end the war with the American side and our other partners, we speak about the release of prisoners as one of the first steps. We believe that this absolutely must happen. I thank all our partners who support us in this effort. And everyone in Ukraine and around the world—all those who keep the issue of prisoners on the information agenda. I thank the teamwork of the Office of the President, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ombudsman, and all others involved, whose efforts bring Ukrainians home. We always bring our people back, and this is one of the most important principles of our state. That’s how it is, and that’s how it will be.
