Today, despite having informed the police in advance that I intended to attend a gathering of supporters of the Islamic Republic, I was subjected to unacceptable and deeply concerning conduct by the Metropolitan Police Service. While I had engaged in no form of violence and was merely asking participants simple questions including “Are you Iranian?” and “Do you support the Islamic Republic?” I was first assaulted by a woman who threw a sandwich at my face. Shortly afterwards, I was suddenly subjected to physical force by a police officer. This use of force was so excessive and unprofessional that it aggravated an existing injury to my rib. Following this incident, instead of protecting me as the victim of an assault, the police threatened me that I must either leave London or face arrest. I was then again presented with the ultimatum of leaving the area or being arrested. This occurred despite the fact that the assault against me took place in full view of police officers, who failed to take any meaningful action to protect me. This conduct constitutes not only a clear violation of my right to freedom of expression and peaceful presence at a public gathering, but also demonstrates unequal and discriminatory treatment by the police. I will be pursuing this matter through the appropriate legal and oversight channels and will be filing a formal complaint against the Metropolitan Police Service for the violation of my rights. They attacked our people, snatched their phones, smashed furniture, ransacked the premises and destroyed electronic equipment. And where was Kolkata Police? OPEN LETTER TO THE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE Dear Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Police Force_CRU, I am posting this video because the man in it is an officer of the Nigerian Police Force, and his remarks about Igbos and Peter Obi are deeply troubling. As an Igbo man, how am I expected to trust the Nigerian Police when one of its officers publicly profiles Igbos as ritualists and Yahoo boys? The Nigerian Police Force is a federal institution established to protect every Nigerian, regardless of tribe, ethnicity or political affiliation. An officer who publicly makes such disparaging and discriminatory remarks about a section of Nigerians has demonstrated conduct that is completely incompatible with the responsibility and dignity of the office he occupies. There is video evidence of his conduct. I am therefore calling on Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Police Force_CRU to immediately identify this officer and dismiss him from the Nigerian Police Force with immediate effect. Anything less sends a dangerous message. If an officer can publicly make these statements about Igbos, remain in the Nigerian Police Force and face no serious disciplinary consequence, then the Nigerian public is entitled to question whether the position he expressed is tolerated by, or reflects the position of, the institution he represents. The Police Force must not allow silence or inaction to create that impression. This is about public trust. This is about the dignity of Nigerians. The families of both the victim and the accused, who are from Patiala, have been informed. Police said statements of family members will be recorded as part of the probe. The victim’s post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted on Friday.

In a disturbing escalation of political violence in West Bengal, the TMC launched a violent attack at the BJP District Party Office in Cooch Behar. The Assembly Elections are probably 11 months away but TMC have unleashed their attack dogs on the principal opposition party; BJP. This shows that they are losing ground and that's why they are resorting to violence so early. The Party Office is located in the Cooch Behar town and the incident unfolded in the presence of Mamata Police. TMC Goons along with Jihadists who are under the patronage of Mamata Police executed the attack. Several of our Karyakartas got injured badly. A 19-year-old, 1st-year College Student had been drugged and gang-raped in a party recently. Her drink had been spiked before she was raped and the act was filmed with the intention of extorting in the future. The accused is a Local TMC Councillor's son. As usual Mamata Police seem to be trying their best to get him off the hook. Today I marched alongside BJP West Bengal Karyakartas in Behala; Kolkata, to register our vehement protest against the Mamata Police who appear to be complicit in botching up the investigation to favour the TMC Councillor's son.
