It's happening! Here's your first look at a movable taskbar in Windows 11, coming soon. You'll be able to move and resize the taskbar on Windows 11, just like you did on Windows 10! It's still in internal testing, and to be clear, this video is from a virtual machine, which is why it might feel slow. Also, Microsoft won't use the right-click menu we're seeing in the video; it's only being used to quickly debug the feature. What else do you want Microsoft to improve in Windows 11? 👇

Marcus Ash, who leads Design and Research for Windows and Devices, says Microsoft is working on making context menus faster, simpler by default, and configurable to what you use most. Windows XP boot screen. welcome screen. the Bliss wallpaper. and, of course, an error dialog😁 we went from fitting a 28.9M-parameter language model into an ESP32-S3... to recreating the full Windows XP experience on a tiny 240×240 display. the era of "microcontrollers are only good for blinking LEDs" is over

IT WORKS!!! WINDOWS 95 IN THE BROWSER 🤯👌 THANK YOU @lavenderleaf86 + Roberto for helping me to figure it out!!! I had to type > boot -l c instead of > c: > boot It booted Windows 95 in the browser now, display is stuck to 16 colors and low reso but it works! Now next is get dial up working Also it crashed when I tried to run DOOM 2 so I need to see how to fix that

Windows 11’s June 2026 Patch Tuesday update is out today, and the biggest change is Performance, not AI. Windows 11 KB5094126 finally brings Microsoft’s new Low Latency Profile to everyone. Microsoft calls it a “General Performance” improvement, but the idea is simple: when you open Start, Search, Action Center, or key shell experiences, Windows briefly pushes the CPU to max frequency for 1–3 seconds so the UI responds faster. I tested it earlier, and the difference is most obvious on budget PCs. Start feels snappier, Search opens faster, and those tiny Windows 11 micro-stutters are reduced. The catch: because of Microsoft’s Controlled Feature Rollout, installing today’s update does not guarantee it is enabled yet. You can verify it with HWiNFO by watching CPU frequency spikes while opening Start.

Microsoft is cooking! Windows 11’s faster app launches released today, and everything is noticeably faster on low-end PCs. Windows 11’s CPU boost feature is no longer just for Start, Search, and shell flyouts. After installing the August 2026 security update, it is now silently active while opening apps too. We tested this on the same PC before and after KB5121003, and the difference is real. Notepad, Calculator, Chrome, VLC, PowerPoint, Weather, and even the Epic Games Store now trigger the same Low Latency Profile behavior Microsoft first rolled out for the Windows shell in June. The moment you open an app, Windows briefly pushes the CPU close to its maximum frequency for one to three seconds, finishes the launch work faster, and then drops back to idle. This is called “race to sleep,” and it is not a lazy trick. macOS and Linux already do similar things. CPU utilization does not spike the same way, so this is not your PC suddenly working harder forever. It is a short frequency burst to make Windows feel more responsive. I know people love mocking Windows performance, and often for good reason, but this one actually works. Apps open faster now, especially on budget and older PCs where every second of delay is noticeable. Windows 11 is finally getting the kind of performance work it should have had from day one.

I thought my AI agent needed a bigger context window wrong the leak was my shell every time it ran git diff HEAD~5 the model ate 92,000 tokens after ztk 18,000 ls -la src 2,000 tokens became 53 cargo test passing 397 tokens became 21 the fix is a 260KB Zig binary that sits between your agent and the shell it compresses command output before it hits the model not by summarizing everything by knowing what each command actually needs to preserve > diffs keep changed lines > tests keep failures > ls keeps structure > logs dedupe repeats > JSON and errors pass through untouched 5.8M tokens saved in one 256 command session stop buying bigger context windows while feeding your agent raw terminal sewage

If I ignore the notification, open Outlook manually, find the email myself, and click it, I can finish faster than the notification flow. It's all because Outlook for Windows is literally Microsoft Edge running Outlook .com in a browser window. New Outlook runs through WebView2 with around 10 separate processes: GPU process, service worker, utility processes, manager, and more. It uses roughly 490MB to 636MB RAM while idle, compared to Outlook Classic sitting around 117MB to 148MB. CPU usage is also worse: around 4% idle on new Outlook versus under 1% on Classic in my testing. Microsoft shut down Mail and Calendar, keeps pushing enterprises toward this web wrapper, and still wants people to believe it is the future of email on Windows. SHAME!
