It looks like Labor and the Coalition could be preparing the rush more legislation through the parliament this week, this time to funnel more of your money into their pockets. Changes proposed to electoral laws are little more than a gift that Labor is giving to major parties in... the form of ‘compliance’ funding, courtesy of the Australian taxpayer. At 30 thousand dollars per lower house MP and 15 thousand dollars per senator, Labor will get close to 2.7 million dollars. When you add it up for every member of this Parliament, it reaches 5.67 million dollars. Don’t you love it how Labor is just helping itself to more of your money? They conveniently make some changes to the electoral act and then decide their MPs need more of your money to comply with them. When Labor imposes horrendous compliance requirements on miners and small businesses and farmers – such as with the appalling industrial relations legislation rammed through last year – they get no support to help them comply. Yet it’s the miners and small businesses and farmers which generate real wealth in the economy in the form of jobs, goods and their taxes – not MPs. It’s their productivity which drives our economy, and it’s the excessive red, green and black tape imposed by Labor which is a drag on this productivity. I’d call it hypocritical, except these days Labor wears hypocrisy like a badge of honour. I’m just going to settle for calling it greedy. These will be bold, genuine reforms that help remove the major parties’ stranglehold on Australian democracy. Enjoy Tax Freedom Day this week! So far, on average, you have worked the first 4 months of this year to pay taxes to the Government. Taxes have now risen to about a third of the economy under Labor. Under Labor, Tax Freedom Day has been getting later and later. Taxes are up $26,000 per Australian household per year since COVID. Now Labor wants more taxes. Labor wants a tax on property (removing negative gearing), Labor wants a tax on investment (increasing tax on capital gains) and a tax on small businesses (taxing the trusts that so many use). Enough with more Labor taxes that just make you work more for them.

The Australian people have spoken on Labor’s dystopian Digital ID legislation and firmly rejected it. Tomorrow I will table a petition signed by 65,724 people calling on the Senate to repeal this insidious legislation. I want to express my thanks and admiration for these Australians standing for their privacy rights and the individual freedoms that this legislation seeks to undermine. I also want to acknowledge the courage of the thousands of Australians who gathered in cities around the country on the 5th of May to protest this legislation. In contrast to the hatred and violence of the useful idiots on university campuses, these protests were peaceful, orderly and stood for Australian values rather than the genocide of Israelis. One Nation is committed to the repeal of this legislation, effectively a joint effort by Labor and the Coalition to monitor and control the Australian people. We know the former Coalition government spent about 600 million dollars preparing for a national digital ID system. We know Labor has allocated another 288 million dollars in the Budget. We know this bill was rushed through the Senate with no debate and no scrutiny. We can safely predict it will sail through the House of Representatives – perhaps even today. We know Labor says it will be voluntary, but we also know this is a lie because the bill has provisions to make it mandatory in several circumstances. But thanks to this petition, we also know that many Australians are opposed to it and I call on the Senate to act accordingly.

Yesterday, I moved a vote of no confidence in the Albanese Labor Government. Labor survived but only because they were protected by the Greens and Senator Pocock, who voted against my motion, and by Senators Lambie, Tyrell, and Thorpe who abstained. Any Senator who continues to prop up this terrible government should be ashamed. Back in 2017, I was in a delegation to India with other parliamentarians including the current Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese. I learned quite a bit about him and his ‘leadership’ style, and my assessment back then was: “nice bloke, but no leader”. Since last year’s election, my assessment has been proven correct. I have no confidence in the Albanese Labor government. The Prime Minister is unfit to lead, and Labor is unfit to govern this nation. They are controlled by unions, and they are controlled by the anti-Australian Greens. They pursue policies which directly harm the Australian people and the national economy. Their list of failure, neglect and incompetence is a long one in only 18 months. Their obsession with climate change and renewables is directly responsible for the record energy bills hurting Australian families and business, not to mention transmission lines on farming land. This obsession is well on the way to killing our mining and farming industries, our economic mainstays which support regional communities and much of the taxpayer funded services Australians take for granted. They’re also attacking farmers by taking more water from communities in the Murray Darling Basin, shutting down live exports, polluting agricultural land with renewables or locking it up for ‘nature repair’. If you think your groceries are expensive now, just wait. Labor’s incompetence has seen the release of dangerous criminals into the community – three of which have already been arrested for more alleged crimes. 147 have been released – or are about to be released – despite the High Court’s decision on extended detention was only for one of them. They jumped the gun after they were caught with their pants down, and their only response is to blame the former government. People smugglers have also heard the message loud and clear, with a boat actually reaching the Australian mainland a few weeks ago. Immigration is out of control, with record numbers driving inflation and the national housing and rental crisis. At least his divisive referendum exposed the failure of the 40 billion dollar per year aboriginal industry to close the gaps Labor refuses to investigate and audit this industry to get to the bottom of why it has failed indigenous Australians in genuine need. Labor has made the family law system even more one-sided against fathers by removing shared parental responsibility, and is failing men across a range of issues. They’ve done nothing to address the epidemic of male suicide, which in the past year has claimed the lives of more than 2500 men and boys. The PM has a minister for women, even a minister for a republic which doesn’t exist, but not a minister for men. Labor refuses to support an inquiry into the huge increase of children being treated for gender dysphoria with puberty blockers and cross sex hormones. Labor has given the chop to critical infrastructure projects that would improve road safety and water security. It hasn’t reduced spending – it’s just moved money around and held projects hostage against favourable state election outcomes. Especially in Queensland. Australians are hurting from the cost of living crisis. Virtually everything costs more than it did in May last year, when the Albanese Labor government was elected: • groceries; • fuel; • energy bills; • rents; • mortgages. These costs just keep going up, and there’s no end in sight. On average, mortgagees are paying over 20,000 dollars more per year on their home loans as the RBA desperately tries to reign in this inflation. Labor has made a sport of disrespecting this Parliament, the seat of democracy and the people’s elected representatives. They’ve rammed through laws – heavy with negative consequences for the economy, national security and the cost of living – and given the people’s representatives virtually no time to review them. Labor's budget has revealed that this government is blowing more than 364 million dollars on Anthony Albanese's unnecessary, divisive, race-based Voice referendum. Never in the history of this country has so much money been wasted on a referendum Australia shouldn’t even be having. There is no question this referendum is bitterly dividing Australia, and dividing indigenous Australia too. And there is no doubt this will be the most expensive referendum exercise ever. Added to the 75 million in the October Budget, this means taxpayers are forking out more than 400 million dollars for the Prime Minister’s personal vanity project. The last referendum in 1999 cost approximately 67 million dollars – adjusted for inflation, today it would have cost about 124 million dollars. There’s every reason to believe the extra money is being banked to fund the voice, which in their arrogance Labor will legislate even when the Australian people reject it. That’s why the ‘no’ vote must be overwhelming, and send the clear message to Labor that Australians will not permit them to create a voice. The money also includes more than 10 million to “increase mental health supports” for Aborigines during the referendum period. Typical Labor hypocrisy. Follow the money. If you want to know why the Australian Labor Party is indulging in a childish scare campaign against nuclear energy, follow the money. This pathetic Labor scare campaign is an insult to the intelligence of every Australian. If Labor was truly against nuclear energy on principle, it would cancel any arrangements to purchase nuclear-powered submarines and it would dismantle the nuclear reactor at Lucas Heights in Sydney. However, we know Labor has no principles other than doing the bidding of the union thugs who fund them. This appears to be the ultimate reason behind Labor’s anti-nuclear scare campaign. Labor provides billions of dollars of grants, subsidies and incentives to support renewable energy investments. Between them and the Coalition, this has cost taxpayers $29 billion in the past 10 years. Labor enforces regulations and mandates which enforce a guaranteed market for renewable energy. Industry superannuation funds controlled by Labor’s union bosses invest heavily in these renewables projects, and why not? It’s underwritten by taxpayers thanks to Labor, guaranteeing a lucrative return for these union-controlled super funds. These lucrative returns are then used to support the Labor Party with large donations. It was no coincidence that in December 2023, union-controlled industry super funds demanded even more “favourable investment conditions” underwritten by taxpayers for the transition to net zero. These funds included CBUS, chaired by former Labor treasurer Wayne Swan, and AustralianSuper, with close ties to former Labor prime minister Paul Keating. I’ll highlight a few more union affiliations among the current Labor cabinet: • Bill Shorten and the AWU • Tony Burke and the SDA in New South Wales • Don Farrell and the SDA in South Australia • Katy Gallagher and the CPSU • Pat Conroy – the CFMEU and the AMWU • Richard Marles and the ACTU It’s insidious how much unions have infiltrated this Parliament, and how it compromises good government. This is a scam paid for by the Australian taxpayer with subsidies, and by Australian consumers with their record high energy bills. Labor and its union masters don’t want this corrupt gravy train derailed by nuclear energy. That’s why they’ve come out swinging against it, while once again showing their absolute contempt for the intelligence of the Australian people. Fortunately, Australians are smart enough not to fall for Labor’s pathetic scare campaign of three-eyed fish memes. Australians understand that nuclear power is safely used at 450 sites around the world in 32 countries. Australia is the only advanced economy in the world which doesn’t make use of this proven technology, despite having at least a quarter of the planet’s proven uranium reserves. This important natural advantage to Australia is being squandered. It makes absolutely no sense that Australia – one of the world’s most energy-rich countries – is facing energy shortages this winter and has some of the highest energy prices in the world. That is, unless you follow the money trail. Labor and the unions are orchestrating a massive scam on the Australian people, and the price of it will be our economy and our standard of living. This scam and the destruction it is causing must be exposed and stopped. Nuclear energy is a beginning, but uranium is just one of Australia’s natural advantages. We also have abundant reserves of coal and natural gas. All of these natural advantages should be utilised in an independent energy policy that prioritises affordability and reliability over climate change ideology. The Prime Minister’s inability to stand up to unions has been exposed by thugs like John Setka. The Prime Minister’s weakness has been further exposed by Senator Payman, who has escaped any serious sanction for crossing the floor against Labor policy last week. Why are we allowing this union-Labor renewables scam to happen? Is it to arrest climate change by reducing carbon dioxide emissions? Because if it is, that’s not working. Global emissions continue to rise, another indicator of the union-Labor renewables scam. They will rise no matter what Australia does, no matter how many coal mines and power stations we close, no matter how many wind turbines and solar panels pollute the Australian landscape.

Immigration policy from both parties of government – Labor and the Coalition – does not reflect the views of the Australian people. It’s driven by big business and used to prop up an economy brought low by poor government decisions. Poll after poll after poll shows most Australians think immigration is too high, or should be lowered. A staggering 1.4 million people have been brought to Australia since Labor won power in 2022. Last year I called for a national plebiscite on immigration to determine the views of the Australian people once and for all. Labor, the Coalition and the Greens blocked it. This showed they do not care about the Australian people’s views on immigration. It showed they do not care about the increasing numbers of Australians struggling to find secure accommodation, struggling to afford increasing rents, or trying to survive on the streets. It showed they don’t care about about the inflation caused by high immigration, or its overwhelming impact on services and infrastructure. I care, because I’m an Australian fighting for a decent standard of living for myself, my family and the Australians relying on me to fight for them. One Nation listens to the Australian people on immigration, and we develop our policies accordingly. Late last year the Department of Home Affairs revealed more than 75 thousand visa holders were in Australia illegally. Under our policy, all of them would be deported immediately. Under our policy, they would not be able to appeal their deportation to the Australian Review Tribunal. During the previous two financial years, just over 1.4 million people came to Australia courtesy of the Albanese Labor government – an average of 700 thousand per year. These numbers are obscene. One Nation will cap arrivals at 130 thousand per year – a drop of 570,000 per year from Labor’s record numbers. This will allow Australia to catch its breath, catch up with housing, and catch up with services and infrastructure. One Nation’s policy introduces a minimum eight-year waiting period for immigrants before they can apply for Australian citizenship and the privileges that come with it. Over this eight-year period, immigrants will be required to consistently demonstrate they are fit to become Australians. We want to reinforce the principle that Australian citizenship is a privilege to be earned, not an entitlement to be given away. Foreign students will be included in our 130 thousand per year cap. Australian universities must be broken of their addiction to foreign students, and forced to prioritise the tertiary education of Australian students. With modern communications technology, there is no compelling reason why most of these students can’t do Australian courses at home unless, of course, you factor in the amount of money they send back home from Australia. In 2023 this figure was 10 billion dollars. It’s a scam to take jobs and wealth from Australians, and we’re going to put a stop to it. One Nation’s policy will also stop those on student visas from using the system as a backdoor to permanent residency, and we’ll prevent students from bringing family members here. Our policy also demands the reinstatement of temporary protection visas and Australia’s withdrawal from the UN Refugee Convention. TPVs are a proven means of deterring people smuggling, stopping the boats and those arriving by plane. How are people going to vote their way out of this when every time the people support a candidate to challenge the system, the system either co-opts the candidate or pours in millions of dollars to crush their campaign? How are people going to vote their way out of this when every time the people support a candidate to challenge the system, the system either co-opts the candidate or pours in millions of dollars to crush their campaign? It happened with Bernie and Massie, and it will happen to the next candidate the people put their time, energy, and hope into too. It might be terrifying to admit, but it’s still the reality we face: When the system is this corrupt, voting changes nothing. Revolution, on the other hand, changes everything!

Today is Australian National Flag Day. But in Parliament, I was ordered to take off our national flag. I moved a simple motion: let senators wear the Australian flag with pride, especially today. Labor and the Greens shut it down. They called it a "prop". They mocked it. And they made it clear: They don’t respect our flag. They don’t respect what it stands for.
