UBTECH’s Walker shows how a machine can use gaze stillness and humanlike expression to create trust before proving judgment reliability or accountability. Should robots be allowed to look this human in public spaces? Putting the debate aside this is clearly a work of art. Congratulations to UBTECH for this achievement. It walked 106KM from Suzhou’s Jinji Lake all the way to the Shanghai Bund, earning the title of “Longest Distance Walked by a Humanoid Robot.” A2 ran non-stop for 3 days and 3 nights, powered by hot-swappable batteries that kept it going without interruption. 🇨🇳 Saw my first actually useful robot You know those toll way machines and you're always too far off the machine and have to hang out the window to pay, or you're too close and your wheel hits the side In Beijing they have a robot arm for it Although to be fair in Europe we just have a sensor we glue to the windshield and it auto charges your bank via IBAN So maybe not so useful But it looks cool!
