Hi Shad! Just because something has more detail does not make it "better" and that is a frequent conflation I see among AI users. The image you posted is also not comparable to a hand drawn image intended for an animated film and it can not be used for those purposes.

My opinion on AI art is the cat’s out of the bag. You can either complain, which won’t lead to anything. Or you can get with the times. AI is already massive and is getting more advanced with every month.

I think you might be wrong about the art style, there's actually very good reasons simplistic art styles work well. Ghibli's characters read really well on screen, you can tell what characters are feeling from a distance or wide angle shots, and detailed backgrounds ghibli use

Better is subjective, but they can not understand the discussion , most will miss, because they can't see the forest for the trees.

100% but I do get it. There is a lot of nostalgic love for Ghibli and people are overly defensive on the things they love when people criticise it, but their emotional response doesn't make my criticisms invalid or that I dislike Ghibli. I love heaps of Ghibli's works in spite of the art style being plain. You can still love something when pointing out it's flaws.
