It only needs a few crazy ones to fix a continent… Let's be crazy… I got something to announce: We're launching PROTOTYPE: a new fund, fully focused on Europe. A small fund that punches way above it's size. With it we back what Europe is world-class at: robotics, automation,... manufacturing, and anything that requires hard engineering. First check. First round. As early as it gets. Europe invented industry. We're the birthplace of precision manufacturing. The second largest manufacturing hub on the planet. Leaders in automation and robotics. And yet… We sell out our best tech to China. We export our best founders & most of our investment money to the US. That's insanity. What should we do instead? Build the next trillion euro companies in robotics, manufacturing, automation right here: in Europe. Showcase to young founders what is possible and change the system around them where needed. What we will do: → Publish all our fund updates and build in public: → Showcase Europe’s Most Ambitious Startups on Youtube: → Launch & support more projects like EU–INC. Enough talking about Europe. Time to build it: Startups, makerspaces, student clubs, and much more. → And most importantly, invest into the best founders in Europe. Same model as our previous funds that are in their top 1-5% cohorts worldwide. We won’t do a VC fund in the classic sense. This will be a community of hyper-ambitious people who want to actively change Europe for the better. It only needs a few crazy ones to fix a continent… Let's be crazy. Check outshow more

“AC this, wash dryer that, US woohoo, EU boohoo” - Why are we eating this brand-warfare from the outside about us up? Europe has the strongest precision manufacturing in the world, we have leading teams in AI, CV, robotics. Europe is a leader in Automation and Frontier Tech! Not a single NVIDIA chip could be produced without European machines. Not a single American cloud, robotics, or deep-tech firm would operate without European manufacturing or suppliers. But we are too humble. Brainwashed to never celebrate Europe. By outsiders and our local politicians. Time for a change. Europe is the birthplace of industrialization. The home of frontier tech. Time, we act like it. Welcome to the real Europe! 🔥🇪🇺

Stephen Flynn, "When we're at war on our continent, and we are at war with Russia" "Our most trusted ally is choosing to proactively try and divide Europe" "That does the US a disservice, and it does all of us a disservice" "The challenge we face is that we respond to that accordingly. And that we unite across Europe against our common enemies" "And there was a pretty big announcement in Europe of a £150 billion defence fund, that we could have accessed" "But we chose not to because we're not in the European Union any more" "We need to be sure we don't get pulled in both directions. One way towards the Atlantic, one way across to Europe, and end up missing the security that people deserve"

A student in Zurich sleeps in a camper van outside a hangar every night. Just to have more hours to build a humanoid robot. He’s obsessive. He's not alone. 2,500 students across Europe are getting into robotics right now. And now they united and just launched: ESRA, the European Student Robotics Association. 🇪🇺🦾 They are bringing together highly talented young people, give them space, give them resources and let them build. By now already 13 robotics clubs. 8 countries. 2,500+ students. I visited several of them over the last weeks to get to know them and let them tell their stories. We've also been helping behind the scenes where we can, because this is exactly what Europe needs. Several multiple billion dollar companies will come out of the ESRA network. Right here in Europe. If the Bay Area had a student robotics network like this, they would never shut up about it. Time we do the same. 😤🔥🇪🇺 It only needs a few crazy ones to fix a continent. Turns out they're already building. 🇪🇺

Secretary Marco Rubio receives a standing ovation after calling on Europe to be proud of its heritage and history. “We want to do it together with you…” “With a Europe that is proud of its heritage and of its history, with a Europe that that has the spirit of creation and liberty that sent ships out into uncharted seas and birthed our civilization.” “With a Europe that has the means to defend itself and the will to survive. We should be proud of what we achieved together in the last century.” “But now we must confront and embrace the opportunities of a new one. Because yesterday is over.” “The future is inevitable and our destiny together awaits.”

Today is Europe Day. And Ukraine is marking it not formally or through sloganeering, but fully aware that we are already an inseparable part of the European family. We are defending Ukraine, our independence, our future – and in doing so, we in Ukraine are defending our Europe. A Europe of which Ukraine has been and will remain a part. From the first days of the full-scale war until today, Europe has stood with Ukraine. And this is not charity – it is a choice made by Europeans: to stand on the same side as the brave and the strong – the Ukrainians who are fighting today for peace and true protection against tyranny, not only for themselves, but for the entire continent. And we will inevitably defend our state, our people, and our right to freely choose our future – a future in Europe. Glory to Ukraine!

Moldova is a strong nation, and without question – a European nation. I’m absolutely sure that united we will all be part of Europe – a Europe that is free and peaceful. This is what matters most to our people. We all value human life in the same way. We want to live with dignity in our own countries, and we want to remain European nations. I am sure – Russia will lose – and people will win! Our country, your countries, our Europe – we will win this historic struggle and this battle for independence. And we want very much to celebrate our Independence Days in peace, and – in the European Union. We will do everything we can to make it happen! І нам треба і надалі бути разом. 🇺🇦 🇲🇩

🚨 Hey folks I got something to announce: I am launching a new investment fund brand: Prototype Capital 🦾 A globally-active first-check investment fund. We focus on cool stuff that's technical hard to achieve, but also still new enough to be a bit weird – globally. Think Robotics in Eastern Europe, AI in SF, Software remotely, OpenSource SaaS, Space-tech in India, Reindustrialization of Europe, AI Agents in Brazil, among many others… - $100k-$200k - we say we invest early and we actually mean it - with every 5th investment we are the first to commit - only 6% of all ivnestments were after seed - the brand will be a larger umbrella for all kinds of stuff from our own prototypes 😬, to streams, to communities, to investinpublic transparency efforts - this is legally speaking a rebrand of my previous solo GP fund so we got track record to proof - we do about 15-20 investments per year Link in thread! 🔥 Please RT if you got a sec – Appreciate your launch support 🙏❤️

We should not degrade ourselves to secondary roles – not when we have a chance to be a great power together. We should not accept that Europe is just a salad of small and middle powers, seasoned with enemies of Europe. When united we are truly invincible. Europe can and must be a global force. Not one that reacts late, but one that defines the future. That would help everyone – from the Middle East to every other region in the world. That would help Europe itself because the challenges we face now are challenges to the European way of life where people matter, where nations matter. Europe can help build a better world. Europe must build a better world. A world without war. But for that, Europe needs strength. For that, we must act together – and act in time. And most of all – we must have the courage to act.

Europe must stop trying to do everything, everywhere, all at once. There is a clear trinity of top priorities: innovation, productivity and competitiveness. That is where our focus must be. If not, the decarbonisation of Europe will become synonymous with its deindustrialisation, poverty and irrelevance. If we want Europe to matter in the world, our industry must matter first. It is up to us!

It was clear as day that Europe is at war with itself when it allowed Nord Stream to be destroyed. Former Spanish senior diplomat Jose Antonio Zorrilla reveals the unfortunate truth about Europe today: We are a defeated continent. The U.S. won the war and we have to follow. Worst of all is that we're fighting against our most profound interests. Join us on the latest Sanchez Effect as we cover the chaos in Minneapolis, tensions with Iran, Greenland, and the ongoing decline of a weak Europe.

There is a dangerous 1991 “Chicken Kyiv” vibe in the air again. A fear of rocking the boat with Russia. A fear of Russia losing. A belief that Russia must always be given a way out. We need to get rid of that fear. Fear is exactly what Putin uses to paralyse us, divide our societies and stop us from acting. Instead, we should focus on the Europe we want to build. For me, that means a Europe where Ukraine has real, working security guarantees. A Europe with no grey zones between NATO, the EU and Russia. A Europe strong enough to defend the freedom and way of life we hold dear. That future will not be built by fearing Russia. It will be built by making Russia fear the consequences of aggression.

Today, we’re excited to announce that Lerer Hippeau has closed $200M in new capital for our ninth seed fund. We’ll invest LH Fund IX in pre-seed and seed-stage companies. This fund represents an increase from LH Fund VIII’s $140M, and a continued commitment to supporting the next generation of founders while maintaining focus in approach. This fund also includes several dozen LH portfolio founders as limited partners – a fact we’re really proud of as we think it best exemplifies what this community means to the people who comprise it. With this raise, LH is also celebrating 15 years of supporting early stage founders by serving as their first and most aligned institutional partner. We feel lucky to be doing this work and are honored that founders continue to choose us as their partners.

Throwback to 2005 Nigel Farage, "Your only real achievement is that Britain is now isolated, alienated, we are completely alone within the European Union" Tony Blair, "You sit with our countries flag, you do not represent our countries interest" "This is the year 2005.. Not 1945.. We're not fighting each other any more.. These are our partners.. They're our colleagues and our future is in Europe" "When you and your colleagues say what do we get with what we contribute.. We get a Europe that is unified after years of dictatorship in the east.. We get economic development in countries who we have championed.. We get a future reform that allows us once and for all to put an end to discussions about rebates, common agricultural policy, and get a proper reform budget for Europe" "That's what we get if we have the vision to sieze that opportunity" It's now 2024 and Nigel Farage and Brexit have alienated the UK in Europe. Brexit has caused enormous damage across almost every industry, ruining lives, hopes and dreams Each year we remain outside the EU Single Market the UK loses £40 billion in tax revenue that could fund our services and pay for things our country needs If we want services and for things to work, the UK can't afford to be isolated and alienated outside of Europe

[Q]: Mr. President, how concerned are you that by describing Europe as lost, you may actually alienate Europeans and make them less willing to help you in the future? [President Zelenskyy]: About Europe - there are very strong leaders, and they know what to do. They have to be - they have to rush. For example, I can tell you very, very honestly - we spoke about it - that in 2040 Russia will have an army of 2, 2.5 million people. They will have it. We will have a ceasefire, or we will not have a ceasefire. It will be a pause in this war, or, God bless, it will be the end of this war with really strong security guarantees. But we don't know if Russia will come back. What they need, what their goals are - nobody knows. So my suggestion - and I think about our families and our children - my suggestion to Europe is that Russia will want to try who is strong in Europe.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp explains why Europe is failing in AI: "We have a template for what doesn't work. It's called Europe." "What did Europe do? Shut everyone else out." "Our business is booming in America, and one of our brand advantages, unfortunately across the world, is Europe is trying to find ways to keep companies like Palantir out. "We see on the front line in our classified deployments where we're using open weight models, that we can get those models to be as good or better than frontier models." "What you want in a stack is an American stack that's American based—on every single part of that stack is the best part." Via FOX Business Liz Claman

Marco Rubio: We want Europe to survive. We want Europe to prosper because we’re interconnected in so many different ways. I think it’s the same message. What the vice president said last year was very clear: Europe had made a series of internal decisions that were threatening to the alliance and ultimately to itself. Not because we hate Europe or don’t like Europeans, but because what is it that we fight for? What binds us together? Ultimately, it’s that we are heirs to the same civilization, a great civilization. One we should be proud of, one that has contributed enormously to the world, and one upon which America itself is built. And that’s the point. People don’t fight and die for abstract ideas. They fight to defend who they are and what matters to them. That was the foundation laid last year, and this year we build on it to explain that when we sound urgent or even critical about decisions Europe has failed to make or has made, it’s because we care. It’s because we understand that our fate is intertwined with Europe’s. We want Europe to survive. We want Europe to prosper, because our alliance is critical, but it must be an alliance of partners who are capable and willing to fight for who they are and what matters.

We think Europe needs more pro-European, pro-tech, pro-abundance, pro-optimism propaganda. So we made it. Posters, t-shirts, hoodies. Full-on propaganda. We've been handing them out at robotics meetups and clubs all over Europe for weeks, and people love them. Why we are doing this: Europeans know more about the companies in the States than the ones right here at home. We need to change that. Time for propaganda. Every poster features a real European company: 🦾 Allonic is braiding humanoids. A completely new approach to building robotic parts. If it works, a number one company worldwide, right here in Europe. 🚜 Voltrac, the electric autonomous tractor (we made a whole video about them). 🏗️ Automated Architecture (AUAR), doing micro-factories for wooden houses. 🪨 Gondor Industries, a stone mason company using robotics. And many, many more to come. This is the first of many drops. More launching in the next few weeks, including flags, EU posters and more. 👉 Get yours at For Europe 🇪🇺🔥 PS: If you're organizing a robotics event or meetup, have a student club or hacker space, comment or message us and we'll send you a swag box.

When I was a founder, every VC fund looked identical. Same landing page, same language, zero transparency into how they actually worked or what they actually believed. I couldn't figure out who was aligned with what I was building. So we're doing something about it: we're open-sourcing our investor updates. Same document our LPs get, fully public, nothing redacted. We hope by being transparent we can build trust with the best people to join our mission. Future founders who will build generational companies right here in Europe and future community members who will support them. We just published the first one. Let me walk you through it. ❤️🔥🇪🇺
