Watch this game-changing dissertation on "expert writing." Expert writers write to "think" about the world. 99% of experts write and think at the same time. They use the writing process to help themselves think. This is how they do their best thinking. Write to think about the world. Do this because you care, because you want to be part of progress, because you want to make a dent in the universe. Write to inspire and influence. I get that there are rules and regulations, but watching this much food go straight into the trash is painful. There has to be a better way for big retailers to handle situations like this. If their fridges go down, they should be allowed to call a church or local organization to pick up the food and get it to people who actually need it—instead of dumping it all. This needs to change. They could write it off as a donation, and everyone wins.
