It should be the bare minimum in safety that someone from the site (builders present) should be with the skip lorry driver to assist pedestrians pass by the lorry onto the main road. Better Streets for Enfield And of course, a large vehicle projecting onto footpath at the next properly.

@BetterSt4Enf I get your point Paul; as a wheelchair user I appreciate it. But the fact is that they have a right to be there to drop off the skip, & the law as it stands anticipates a certain degree of patience & understanding from other road (inc. pavement) users. I would just have waited.

@BetterSt4Enf Well, that certainly is one way to describe that driver. But in reality, the builder should really have come out to manage their site properly or the skip company should send out a banksman for jobs on main roads like this.
