It takes just one honest contributor. Union's Trusted Setup Ceremony has begun. 🧵

1/ Union is the hyper-efficient interoperability protocol that connects chains across any ecosystem. That means @arbitrum, @berachain, @NativeNetwork, @movementlabsxyz, and more. At the core of Union is ZK. The Trusted Setup Ceremony is vital for securing Union's ZK system.

2/ What is a Trusted Setup Ceremony? It's a cryptographic process required for ZK proving systems. By involving many parties in the ceremony, it minimizes the risk of the entire ceremony consisting of bad actors. It takes just one honest contributor for the system to be secure.

3/ How does the ceremony work? Each participant contributes randomness to generate the system’s public parameters. Every contribution adds entropy, and after the contribution, the user's part of the randomness is securely discarded.

4/ For Union, contributions are done through where contributors will be guided through running a Terminal (docker) app that generates and submits the generated entropy. Both the website and the docker app are fully open source and reproducible.

5/ The ceremony will have two phases. First is the private phase, where a code is required. If you have a code, go to to begin contributing. If you don't have a code, you can sign up for the waitlist at

6/ Second is the public phase. This phase is open to anyone, and will be first come, first serve. Those on the waitlist will receive an email 12-18 hours before the public phase begins. Fair warning: make sure you're online when the queue opens. It will fill up quickly.
