Chuck Norris, a martial artist and actor, has passed away at the age of 86. His family released the following statement: “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends. Today we paid our respects at the family home Bishop Boland in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape. Bishop Bolana was a great fountain of knowledge, comfort and inspiration to so many. He was a visionary leader who will be remembered for his immense contribution and commitment to the church, the community and the country. May his legacy continue to inspire us all. Our deepest condolences go to his family and his loved ones as they navigate this difficult time.

Today was one of those moments in the life of a nation that we pause to recognise. I was honoured to witness Commissioner Sonia Boyce take the oath of office as Commissioner of Police. Her appointment rests on years of service, discipline, competence and commitment to Barbados. My Government stands ready to support Commissioner Boyce and the Barbados Police Service as we continue strengthening public safety, confidence and trust. I also thank outgoing Commissioner Richard Boyce for his steady service to our country. May God bless Commissioner Boyce, the Barbados Police Service, and Barbados.

Taroha has developed a new habit: he finishes his first milk bottle and puts it down normally. He finishes his second – and walks away with it clasped in his trunk. When a Keeper tries to get it back, he runs! His enthusiasm is the same as it was in May 2024 (listen for that rumble at the end!). Taroha came to us by way of a JCB bucket. He had been found alone on the shores of Lake Jipe and it was the only vehicle rescuers had access to at the time. By the time he arrived at our Nairobi Nursery, his journey had included an overnight stay at our Voi Unit and a flight aboard an aeroplane. But he was safe, and with his new family:

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo was always poised to play an important role in the team from pre-season. He was central to many of the positive aspects of our play during pre-season. Although he didn’t start the season as a key member of the team and wasn’t used effectively in the early stages, the recent tactical evolution within the club has once again positioned him as a key element in the team’s playing structure. Mshini has to play this season with a level of intensity that demands both physical and mental resilience. It’s encouraging to see his commitment to improving his fitness. His dedication to extra work beyond club training remains consistent, even after years of mixed fortunes in terms of game time. Despite limited opportunities, he has continued to focus on refining his physicality, fitness, and conditioning. This season will demand even more from him, but it’s reassuring to see his determination to stay sharp, look good, and be ready whenever the team requires him. I genuinely appreciate the continued work Bukhosi Nyoni is doing with him from the time Mshini was making waves as a youngster in the CAFCL to this day — it shows a positive relationship beyond football and a clear intent to elevate his game and sustain his readiness for top-level competition. He continues to take good care of the ball in that engine room, and this version of Mshini looks highly competitive and confident. ❤️✌🏾

Kyle Shanahan on Curtis Robinson: “He's really worked to get better each year, and he's a very talented guy. I think when he came here, he hadn't played in a system like this for a while. It took him a little bit to kind of pick that up, but we so believed in him as a guy and his talent level that after a year, you could start to see it clicking. He became a big asset on special teams, and last year was the first time that we really believed he was going to step in there, really contribute at linebacker at a high level. It was actually kind of a sad story, but it was about 20 minutes before he tours ACL, was the first time that I told him he'd be starting that week. It was his first start in his career, and he had earned it. We were going to move him ahead of Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles at the time. I had just told Flannigan, which was tough for Flannigan, but they were so tight, so he was happy for Curtis. Then it was about 20 minutes later that Curtis tore his ACL on special teams before he even got to a defensive rep. He was so coming in there and finally about to have his moment. Then he had that setback, which I know crushed the team for him. He's one of the most liked guys on our team, as good of a person and good of a dude as I've ever been around.
