A warm welcome to Jordan 🇯🇴 as the newest member of the INTERPOL Global Academy Network. The agreement I signed with Director of Public Security Major General Dr Abeidallah A Maaitah, with INTERPOL President Lucas Philippe in attendance, makes Jordan the 27th member – and fourth from the Middle East and North Africa region. Bringing its experience and expertise in counter-terrorism, combating drug and weapons trafficking, as well as border security, Jordan’s membership will significantly contribute to this law enforcement learning platform.

Financial crime weakens our economies. It puts our security at risk. It steals from our communities. But when we come together - when we target illicit profits and stand shoulder to shoulder - we make it harder for criminals to succeed, and easier for our people to thrive. That’s why it was an honour to welcome Elisa de Anda Madrazo, President of the Financial Action Task Force, to INTERPOL’s headquarters. Because in this fight against illicit finance, partnership is not just important - it is essential.

It was a real pleasure welcoming Richard Chambers back to INTERPOL headquarters - this time in his role as New Zealand 🇳🇿 Police Commissioner. Many of us remember his time here as Director of Organized and Emerging Crime, so having him walk the halls again was a meaningful moment for our team, myself included. We had a productive discussion about the vital partnership between New Zealand and INTERPOL in tackling transnational organized crime. I’m grateful for his continued commitment to our work, and to making the world a safer place.
