It’s a valid point. When concerns were raised, SNP did not investigate Peter Murrell. In fact, they aggressively denied money was missing. It took a member of the public contacting police. Even then, Sean Clerkin was publicly mocked by senior figures close to Murrell & Sturgeon.

Former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell has been jailed for five years and three months after he admitted embezzling more than £400,000 from the party. Murrell, who's the estranged husband of former first minister Nicola Sturgeon, used the money to buy cars, kitchenware, hairdryers and other goods. The judge at Edinburgh's High Court said his offending increased in frequency and amount over time and was a "significant breach of trust".

Nicola Sturgeon and Peter Murrell were the husband and wife team at the top of the Scottish Nationalist Party. Like all socialist parties, it redistributed wealth - to itself. Peter Murrell has just admitted embezzling over £400,000 from SNP donors, and it looks like there could be further revelations to come.
