It’s amazing how a different arrangement can completely transform your experience of a song and understanding of its lyrics. Sound ON:

I am touched by how many people are finding this as powerful as I do—and I am LOVING all the cover songs people are sharing with me in the replies. Keep ‘em coming 🤗

The artist’s name is Jørgen Dahl Moe. He’s Norwegian. You can find him on Spotify:

Indeed! Another great one: this version of A-Ha's lighthearted catchy synth-pop 80s hit "Take On Me". By the same artist, many decades after the original. The cuts to the audience add to the impact.

@vaccinated_af So many of Springsteen's songs were misunderstood. I love hearing them stripped down to hear the poetry of them. He is a national treasure story teller like Woody Guthrie, Bobbie Gentry or Simon & Garfunkel. I hope story telling is returning to song writing & music. We need it.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING ... here is a picture of my dog, as a treat

Thank you! 😊

Just listened four times... Had no idea how good Springsteen's lyrics where in this song.

Bruce wrote a lot of dark songs with catchy rock beats that most people never realize how painful they are.

tbh not sure i even fully knew the lyrics, but this makes so much sense & absolutely changes the meaning. did bruce approve this i wonder, guessing yes bc he’s stopped so many from using his music.

Different arrangement can really make you hear the song so differently. The slow down of “Drive” by The Cars. It’s kind of devastating.
