Stop asking us where the edge is. We are not a hockey puck floating in “space”. It’s very simple Antarctica is not at the bottom of some imaginary ball. Antarctica surrounds the other continents and holds in the oceans of our known world. Antarctica is higher than any other continent. If you want us to prove this, just ask your governments to revoke their Antarctic Treaty and we will all go together. Coffee is on me. Until then, I guess this video will have to do.

Even then, bypass routes would not eliminate dependence on Hormuz. Qatar’s liquefied natural gas has no alternative export route by pipeline, and Iran has previously demonstrated that alternative oil hubs such as Fujairah and Yanbu can also be targeted. “The leverage over the strait will diminish over time, but it won’t go to zero, and it certainly won’t go to zero over the next few months,” said Mills, CEO of Qamar Energy and a non-resident fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy.
