Most of those pushes are just developers fighting with a single configuration file for four hours. The innovation graph is essentially a global heatmap of who has the most stubborn relationship with their own code.

Love this dataset. Would be awesome to see: (1) deltas (growth) not just totals, (2) cuts by language/ecosystem, (3) some normalization (activity ≠ impact, but it’s a great pulse).
