@lenphil29 @vhsrevue No no.. Ive edited it down as per the Tweet. The do the newsbreak. Go to commercials, then return to the entire Talking Footy ep before going to the scheduled news.

@Leo_Puglisi6 @vhsrevue I feel like the Adelaide feed is what we got in Tassie. I remember I was watching Talking Footy, but remember it being interrupted by footage of the towers, not a Channel Seven newsflash in an ad break.

@rhettrospective @vhsrevue I can’t try to correct your memory lol but I doubt that Tas would’ve had the Adelaide feed (mainly because of the timezone difference) I imagine it probably was a clean feed of Talking Footy given to the Tas station by Seven which the Tas station then chose to interrupt

@vhsrevue At the time, I was watching a replay of the Ali doco When We Were Kings on the ABC. I missed the moment when ABC news cut to it live, and thought it was part of the doco showing the airline hijackings in the 70’s…

@vhsrevue I still remember watching Ch10 Sports Tonight on that night - which I think was the first network to cut to the live footage. Then waking up my wife. Could not look away. Prefer to stay away from repeats of the footage still though.

@vhsrevue Was watching that. They came back to talking footy after the first mention of one plane. Thought cesna accident. Soon after they left talking footy... well before the second plane hit.

@vhsrevue I flicked on Ch 10 late news with Sandra Sully to see how many weeks Matthew Lloyd got at the tribunal. They broke the attack news first I think.

@vhsrevue I think I remember reading that Nine did something similar during the West Wing airing. Newsbreak, then the end of the show, then into Nightline. They’ve shown a brief clip of that opening newsbreak on a report in the past

@vhsrevue Amazing. I'm pretty sure that ch9 cut into their showing of the West Wing. I know this because I was watching the West Wing because the pies didn't make the finals.

@vhsrevue I was watching When We Were Kings on SBS or ABC. A ribbon on the bottom of the screen announced the news. Switched channel pretty quick.

@vhsrevue It was a Tuesday night and I’d just got home from Melbourne’s Lumiere Cinema having watched Iñárritu’s debut Amores Perros. I switched on ABC’s Lateline and wasn’t really sure what I was seeing. I stayed up till 6am.

@vhsrevue I was watching channel 9 (WIN at the time up here in the Mallee) and they were broadcasting The West Wing. They had a news flash (remember those?) and then crossed live after the episode had finished. Didn’t get to bed until around 6 in the morning that day.

@vhsrevue I remember not sleeping that night and following the drama that unfolded. I lived in New York in 2006 and people generally did not want to talk about that day at all...

@vhsrevue I was listening to a US radio station when they announced it. I put on CNN to see the towers smoking and the second plane dive in.

@vhsrevue I remember this like it was yesterday. I was watching, of all shows, The West Wing on Ch9. They went to an ad break after the first plane hit and I saw the second plane hit live. They discontinued the broadcast of the episode to follow the aftermath.

@vhsrevue I remember watching Talking Football. Then next thing there was the image of the 1st tower and smoke streaming out of it. Then it unfolded. Was up all night.

@vhsrevue I was watching Channel 10 when it came on with Sandra Sully. Very scary at the time and then to find out later it was an inside job and they used blue beam to show the fake planes. There was only a few stations who were showing fake plane coverage. Many videos now show no planes.
