His obsession with analytics is why he was a bad coach, but over the years he's gotten better and better with balancing both sides of the equation and it culminated with Roberts completely outclassing every coach in the playoffs this season.

His guy also told him to keep putting Treinen in to important games and spots even though he was easily our worst reliever in the second half of the season. His ERA was over 11 in September. He’s (Roberts) the biggest reason Game 3 went 18 innings, which affected Games 4/5.

I will say, if Shohei weren’t guaranteed an at-bat next up, maybe a pinch hitter is called upon. The Muncy HR was huge for that reason.

Some games the gut moves don’t work out. Fortunately for Doc and the Dodgers, games 6-7 every move was impactful and worked.

When Miggy hit that line drive in the 5th, I felt like he was going to be fine hitting in the 9th. At the 3-2 count when he fouled off 2 pitches, I knew it. He looked so calm.

Dave Roberts is a good manager and a great guy, but he does lead a slightly charmed managerial life. I can see Dodger fans seething at Skipper Mattingly in alternate reality Game 7, as weak-hitting Miguel Rojas pops out in the 9th, and overused Yamamoto needs Tommy John surgery.

Man never thought I’d see the day. Dave actually growing into a more balanced, old school manager was the best thing that could have happened to the Dodgers.

Shohei clearly did not have it in Game 7. He got out of jams 2 times. And he still let him pitch the 3rd inning. His players bailed him out. But he made the right moves after. He’s still better than a Boone i suppose
