It’s insane how relevant this movie is now

American History X is a great movie in the acting and some of its nuanced portrayal of characters that modern Hollywood would be incapable of showing any sympathy to. But it is ultimately a bad message IMO, in that it seems to say "yes black people consistently do horrible, unprovoked violence to white people, but the real evil is white people over-reacting to it".

They should have gone with the original ending but Edward Norton threw a fit over it so they changed it.

This movie, for good or ill, hits way differently than when it came out. Everyone needs Jesus right now.

It's common sense, but the entire point of the movie is gaslighting your intuition to neuter you and adopt their ideology.

Pure Jewry. Fuck that movie.

From what I understand, the ending was to be very different.

That's the idea. Introduce a character who makes valid points, structured arguments, and is reasonably upset about his circumstances. Then make him do something evil 😈. Audience: wow... now whenever I hear someone make these talking points, I'll know they're a bad person.
