IT’S MIDNIGHT. That means the Republican shutdown has just begun because they wouldn’t protect Americans’ health care. We’re going to keep fighting for the American people.

Republicans literally created the longest shutdown in American history because they wouldn’t negotiate with us to lower health care costs for working Americans. Now, Mike Johnson is saying he’s “cleaning up the problem” by RAISING health care costs for millions of Americans. This is ridiculous.

Leader Jeffries: The Republican health care crisis is immoral, and Democrats are fighting hard to reverse it. Cancel the cuts. Lower the costs. Save health care on behalf of the American people.

Democrat Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal just praised Cuba’s public health system as “remarkable” — while ignoring the reality of a communist dictatorship that starves its own people and forces doctors to work for pennies. “Cuba has a remarkable public health system." This is the same congresswoman who has repeatedly defended socialist and communist regimes while attacking America. Cuba’s “remarkable” health care system is so great that its doctors moonlight as cab drivers and waiters, hospitals lack basic supplies, and thousands of Cubans risk their lives to flee the island every year. The left loves to romanticize failed communist experiments while lecturing Americans about “equity” and “compassion.” They ignore the repression, the poverty, the blackouts, and the human suffering because it doesn’t fit their narrative. The American people see through it. We know what real freedom and prosperity look like — and it’s not Cuba. It’s the country that millions risk everything to reach, not the one they risk everything to escape. Democrats can keep praising dictators and their broken systems. The rest of us will keep fighting to protect the American way of life that actually works for working families.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: I'm still waiting on Mike Johnson to roll out that Republican health care plan that he boasted and bragged that he was going to have because Americans can't even afford health insurance right now.

Bernie Sanders openly admits that the Democrats will lose leverage if the shutdown ends. The Democrats care more about their leverage for illegals than they do for the American people.

They didn’t want to say it out loud: that in order to pay for permanent tax cuts for the wealthy, they had to cut health care for Americans.

The reason Americans don’t have affordable health care or housing is because of rampant corruption. It’s poisoning our politics. Americans deserve better.

I’m proud of my Republican colleagues for standing our ground. We are one step closer to opening the government for the American people who were hurting under the Democrats’ political theater. Now, with President Donald J. Trump leading the way, we’re ready to tackle the problem of unaffordable and low quality health care.

Mike Johnson has “no idea” how the Republican shutdown ends. Here’s an idea: Come back to DC, work with Democrats, AND SAVE HEALTH CARE. Oh, and “outrageous” is cancelling votes and sending Republican members on 3 weeks of paid vacation.
