VAR basically didn't want the ref on the field to make the decision. They had already made the decision for him..

So, when there's shirt pulling in today's games at corners and free kicks and the attacker goes down, I suspect everyone will be outraged when the ref waves play on? Nah didn't think so🤡s

It just is. The slight contact that was made doesn't make you go down like that. It's diving. It's what Kane and Vardy used to or still do. It's cheating, and Shearer of all people should surely see that, even if he does hate Utd. It's a bloody contact sport.

Young should've been booked for ridiculously theatrical dive, if he hadn't done that pen may have stood 🤷🏻‍♂️

A dive... isn't a clear an obvious error 😅... someone find @alanshearer take when it was Jota against Newcastle.... minimal contact i gaurentee he said that was a dive.

This is absolutely not a clear and obvious error, however... Do we want this to be a penalty? Young makes a huge meal of it, there's definitely contact, but I'm not sure we want to be promoting this kind of grey area of simulation whereby you can earn a penalty.

The shirt pulls aren't enough but there is a trip by Maguire that is. Young goes down too theatrically which probably made the ref change his mind. VAR didn't show him the right angles either though. Also we keep being told VAR aren't to re-ref yet that's whats happened here.
