Houses are for living in, not an investment vehicle. That’s the whole issue. Build houses, let people buy them at fair prices with less competition from buy-to-let bandits and housing associations

Youre going to be taxed out of land/property because organisations like Lloyds banking group or people like Bill Gates want them. Its why farmers, landlords etc are now being taxed to oblivion. Its not a coincidence. "You will own nothing and be happy!"

We must destroy Marxist ideology.

Not quite sure how Labour think forcing small landlords out of business is going to help the rental market. Economic illiterates as always.

The headline is misleading. It’s the tax burden that is wrecking the rental market. Listen to the guest who knows rather than read the headline, written by a writer with an agenda to promote.

I saw the scavengers in gov coming and got out of landlord business 2023. Now I see it was all about reclaiming the property stock for their friends There are zero honest ways to run business in the UK on small level. Marxists and their global partners (Blackrock) want you gone

Whites must be pushed out of everything so we can become a slum and a ghetto

Mortgage is not a true cost - as it pays off a loan towards a tangible non depreciating asset unlike say a piece of machinery that depreciates.

A lot of people got involved in the buy to let market to prop up their pension / as an investment for their future rather than rely on the state. There will always be people who need to rent. However it appears that MPs are the ones who are allowed to own multiple properties 🧐

BlackRock said it invested in undervalued British assets. All part of the plan to move wealth upwards. You will own nothing and you will be happy.

Unfortunately anyone under 35 who voted Labour are now realising what the party is all about. The country is headed to the dark ages. You only have to look back through history or talk to your parents.

@miriam_cates Totalkly against mortgage interest being offset against tax. If it’s ok for landlords, why not non-landlords?!

Tories printed money , inflation and interest rates went up. Flats maintenance costs went above the mortage threshold. Everyone knows that Tories created this mess but they blame the Labour.

Agree 100%. Not allowing interest offset is utterly in comprehensible unless you see it as a tax grab. The uniparty want to have Blackrock as the landlord as they’re still implementing WEF agenda 2030

Less landlords mean less tax, if those houses and flats are sold to private buyers the tax the country earns from them is gone.

‘I work 7 days a week’ 😂

@miriam_cates Ironically if this legislation increases the number of owner occupiers Labour’s vote share is likely to decline as homeowners tend to vote Conservative. In Highwoods, Colchester there are quite a few empty ex rentals up For Sale at the moment.

oh fuck off... why landlord always are playing the victims of something

I would have thought it was as much the tax rate as the renters bill

Government works for specific private interests like banksters and Blackrock at the expense of, and to the detriment of, the tax-paying citizens. Serco, the banks, and Blackrock benefit from the barmy decisions, rules and regulations our government are putting into force.

Forget the rights the reason why this country is a mess is because the government was paying a fortune for foreign people and welfare who then ruined the house when they got evicted through none payment of rent. Now we have to expose some garentures details banks pensions…

houses need to be cheaper

It’s all set up so Blackrock can take the market

The government will purchase these properties and give them FREE to the illegals, LOCK UP YOUR WOMEN AND CHILDREN OR RUN FOR THE HILLS

Have a word with Tricky Dicky. He likes to avoid tax and could give you tips.

The section 21 is cruel and shouldn’t be allowed. Tennent’s homes and rights should be protected. He may be a good landlord but there are really bad ones out there.

The fact is the harder landlords get taxed the harder it is to maintain the property!

Poor landlords

You should not be able to profit off land / property.

In places like Devon it’s meant there are a lot of houses up for sale that are not selling

Sounds like he lost all in crypto

Do Landlords have any rights? Apart from selling and moving out of the sector...
