orbs are really good, i love them, but pls dont kill the tui, its really valuable still.

@arayush01 Haha, people really want to kill it

@arayush01 if u have to :(

@thorstenball NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I LOVE THE TUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII AASSSS WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLlll

Good sound and video. You can kill TUI but I think you need to left some options to at least access "amp -x", Plugin API or launch orbs from local machine too - in that way users could write their own integrations if needed. Maybe offical ACP.

@sqs You still have a tui!?

dude I love these orb vlogs

More coming!

kill the tui and turn amp into a deamon that spawns amp —no-tui in any cwd. Local runners are import. TUI is not.

don't kill the TUI, don't #nocontryforoldmen

@sqs Please don’t kill the TUI. I’ve been a fan of most things removed, but literally won’t use Amp if you kill the TUI.

"orbin' time" I'm going to use that. Its synter'n time? when I run my ads with amp via synter mcp?

I tried Amp/Orbs and seemed great, but setting one up was all my subscription was good for. Never really got to use it.

What's your recommendation for using Orbs for macOS or iOS development where a debian machine can't spawn the app to do testing? My current workaround is letting them SSH into my macbook but that requires my mac to always be on

Yeah we need to get a proper integration working. @hameonline does our iOS and macOS app and he uses a local Amp CLI on macOS on which orbs can spawn other agents. But we need a proper way to do this with Namespace for example. You can spawn "amp --no-tui" there already

@hameonline I'd be VERY interested in beta testing whatever you come up with!

Something's changing with the free tier, right? I just noticed I now have a subscription...

Yeah, killing the TUI is fine.

Two issues with ripping out the TUI: 1. It still has features the web UI does not have (e.g. `@` mentioning a file, global skills, global plugins) 2. It's an escape hatch when you need a VPN, an iOS simulator, or just local access (e.g. "fix X on my machine")

I tried orbs, they are good but I can't see myself switching to it for all work. Is there anything an Amp runner can't provide that an orb can?

Doesn't use up local/limited resources, no state/resource conflicts, infinite orbs. Changes the game.
