Its really funny that Microsoft made a feature involving tilting the xbox 360 considering that doing this destroys whatever game is in the console when you do it

A lot of you dont seem to understand what im trying to say here so I just want to point out that the demonstration of rotating the system while its on for the light to rotate was done by Russ Glaser of Microsoft.

It’s really funny that Microsoft warns you NOT to move the console with a disc in it with a very in your face label and yet you’re trying to make it sound like it’s Microsoft’s fault because you can’t read lol

I can read and I can remember the label I just never realized that the light rotates like that because I always tried to avoid ruining my disks bud.

The fact that they made this a feature, paired with the sticker that came on the console that BEGGED you to never do this, is hilarious.

I will never forget my friend tilting my Xbox while I was playing Rainbow six Vegas 2 and the mf scratched and wouldn’t play. Went to block buster and swapped it out with theirs lol

Yeah I had one and there was a sticker on the disc tray too and I read it and listened so I never realized that they programmed the light to rotate like that while its on.

What type of sub-human would move their console while a disk is running? People doing this deserved whatever happened to their games and console. This is a classic error of ID: 10 T. Now I question the whole RROD because I’ve had both black and white consoles and never had this issue.

Why the F*ck would you do that to any disc drive while a disc is in it?

Bro I’ll never forget Mw2 just dropped my cousins fat ass bumped into the 360 and it fell to the side completely destroying the disc. Was poor couldn’t afford another copy.

I had that happen with a couple of games, if the system could still recognize the disc I borrowed a copy from a friend to copy to my HDD and could then continue playing them that way. Pretty unacceptable issue for the system to have imo. Great library of games tho.

It specifically said in the manual to never touch it when it was in operation. Anything with a spinning disk (CD, DVD, HDD) was and is sensitive to this... it was common knowledge for most not to touch it.

Someone should have told that to russ glaser when he designed the light rotation then…

I remember being a dumb kid and turning it with a game inside not realizing that this would happen (I dont think mine came with the sticker but I could be wrong). We jokingly called the scratches halos. Needless to say that this was one time mistake for everyone who did it 🤣

Weren't you supposed to do it while the console is off and no disk is inside? It's for if you're rearranging your room. The console just detects which orientation it's in so that it displays the 4 corners in the correct order.

I still remember my Dad going: “Isn’t it supposed to be standing up like this?” right as he tilts my xbox into the upright position. Shredding the disk of the game I was playing.

Yeaaaaah even if its turned off before changing orientations, the internal disk spinning mechanism had a distinct wobble that would scratch the disk on the internal plastic. Source - 3 xbox360s I owned did this to multiple games. Adding inserts to the interior fixed the problem.

@harmlessserpent you're not meant to be pushing around any spinning disc 😂 I have a external dvd reader/writer and I have to put a weight on or angle the usb cable a certain way otherwise it moves around on its own from the vibrations
