Public schools exist to educate our children, not to police our families. Schools should be safe places where kids can focus on learning, growing, and building their futures, not places where families fear deportation. Of course the hotels shouldn't be attacked, yet our communities shouldn't be endangered by these unknown people. It is also not appropriate for schools to allow men in lady face portraying highly sexualised caricatures of women to perform for children. Recently I spoke to a group of concerned parents who had a drag queen come into the local school to perform for their kids without their consent and without their knowledge. Protecting children from adult concepts like drag should not be controversial.
