Why is there so much hatred toward Oprah Winfrey for trying to help out int he aftermath of the Maui fires? Is this another case of the "I hate wealthy people" excuse? We see it with Elon Musk, we see it with Bill Gates, and we're seeing it with Oprah now. Yes, Oprah is worth over a billion dollars. No, $10 million doesn't put much of a dent into her net worth, but it's better than nothing. How much money have you donated to Maui? My guess is that the majority of those who are attacking Oprah have not donated a single cent to the cause. Why do wealthy people get attacked all of the time, as if it's their duty to donate their money? Even when they do, it's not enough? Is Oprah just disliked because of her ideologies, in a similar way people dislike Elon Musk and Bill Gate? So people try and come up with anything possible to make them look bad? Thoughts?

Oprah Winfrey reveals she goes by Oprah instead of her birth name Orpah because people kept mispronouncing it. Keke Palmer: I found out that your name… it was originally Orpah? Oprah Winfrey: It was Orpah, from the Bible. Ruth, first chapter, 14th verse. Keke Palmer: (gasps) Oprah Winfrey: You know, it’s that whole Ruth and Naomi story. And, you know, Ruth said, “Wherever thou goest, I will go,” and then Orpah said, “I’m going back. I’m sorry, I can’t…” (laughs) “…too long. The road’s too long.” Keke Palmer: Now, what made you go to Oprah? Oprah Winfrey: It’s not what made me, I was a kid! And nobody knew how to spell it. So it turned out, on my birth certificate, it’s O-R-P-A-H. And then people started calling me Oprah. And so, it’s just the difference between the “P” being before the “R” or after the “R”. So once they started with Oprah, that’s it. I didn’t learn until I was like, probably 20 or something that, “Oh, this isn’t really my name.
