It’s a lunar transit! (There’s one more in this video – see if you can spot it!) Lunar transits occur when the Moon passes between SDO and the Sun, briefly blocking part of the Sun. In other solar systems, transits help us discover new exoplanets: More on flares & coronal mass ejections:
