He speaks more truth to power than they can handle. 1⃣ We are far more dependent on the 🇺🇸 than they are on us. 2⃣ If 🇨🇦 cannot maintain the current level of free trade in the negotiation, it will be catastrophic for our economy. 3⃣ The only meaningful way to diversify away from the 🇺🇸 is with greater energy exports but the “Laurentian consensus” has severely hindered this. 4⃣ If there’s any change to the level of access the 🇨🇦 auto sector has to the 🇺🇸, we will lose the industry.

We'd expect the same from 🇨🇦, they have a different approach than the 🇺🇸, they have some retaliatory tariffs and that makes it a problem to negotiate."

"I have no inside information whatsoever... but I think Minister Leblanc is heading into a wood chipper...they are just going to lay out exactly what's been agreed to by Mexico & the expectations on Canada to acquiesce."
