These neighboring countries have a history of interfering in Somalia's affairs and promoting instability in the region. The ATMIS mission, which is meant to provide security and stability, may actually be a facade for further exploitation and manipulation of Somalia's resources. It is important for Somalia to closely monitor and address any potential ulterior motives behind the involvement of Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti in Somalia.

At today’s UN Security Council meeting, Somalia firmly responded to Ethiopia’s attempt to impose itself on the new AU/UN support mission (AUSSOM). Somalia made it clear: “Thanks, no tanks. We have already secured the necessary 11,000 security personnel through bilateral agreements.” Ethiopia is finally out of Somalia. I am a proud Somali today.

Ethiopia is considered the greatest opportunist in Africa and the world, having exploited the collapse of the Siad Barre regime and the state in Somalia following the civil war in the early 1990s. Similarly, it took advantage of the departure of the late President Hosni Mubarak’s regime in 2011 to build the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), assuming that the Egyptian state had collapsed. The difference now is that Somalia is recovering, building its army, and fighting to liberate its lands and eradicate terrorism, while Egypt is reaffirming its strategic position in the Horn of Africa. Miller: Who lives in your country determines what your country is. Haiti doesn't work as a country. If you move it to America, it's not going to work here. Somalia doesn't work as a country. You take Somalia out of Somalia and put it here and it's not gonna work any better. If you move the third world to the first world, eventually we become the third world and that's not good for us and it's not good for anybody who wants to live here in the future.

This exercise appears to be a show of force. Confirming that Egypt has decided to bring the conflict closer to Ethiopia, which may find itself facing a new and uncomfortable reality, a report from security officials indicated that these drills, scheduled for this month, will involve ground, air, and naval forces. For those who don't know her, while serving as the UK's Ambassador to Somalia, she played a key role in opposing the Blue Revolution in northeastern Somalia, a movement that ultimately drove the separatist forces out of northeastern Somalia and confined them to northwestern Somalia, leading to the establishment of what is now the Northeastern Federal State of Somalia, which covers around 45% of the territory claimed by Somaliland. And, by coincidence, the British Ambassador to Somalia visited Somaliland today! The United Kingdom remains the biggest foreign obstacle to Somalia's unity❗️
