It's winter, which means I have time to think and be radicalized about how there's only been 4 races at Daytona since 2011 where less than 50% of the field has crashed

To me, this is why the prestige of winning at Daytona/Talladega has come down so much. It’s just a matter of surviving to the end and battle the 5-7 remaining cars that aren’t junked. Crashes have always been apart of that style of racing but it’s gotten so much worse.

I’m so sick of “the big one” and 45 minute red flags to clean it up. It’s totally ruined Daytona and Talladega for me.

Unfortunately that’s just the nature of pack racing at those tracks. Some people like it, some don’t. Still requires skill, bravery, great equipment and luck to win them.

I liked speedway races when we finished good, and didn’t like them when we crashed!

And this sorry ass race car has made it worse.

Which is crazy and sad. All a product of how pack racing has become tighter and tighter. Once the COT and new pavement was put down, these cars have stuck together with basically no gaps more and more each year. One guy up front wrecks, good luck. 😂

Sad to think a majority of new NASCAR fans would hate plate racing pre 2011

Reminds me that there’s nothing scarier than Brad keselowski or Michael McDowell being anywhere near the front at the end of a super speedway race.

As the amount of cars crashed has gone up the tv ratings & the people in the stands have gone down. Not a coincidence
